I have owned many pairs of brand Boots from expensive to cheap. I just started wearing Doc Martens and the 1460’s have quickly become my favorite Boots.

I feel that the 1460’s are significantly more comforting and durable than a lot of people give them credit for. I also get a decent amount of compliments with 1460’s on which is pretty cool.
I have a pair of 8053's that are at least 10 years old and they're holding up well. The little cushion around the heel make them a bit more comfortable than the 1461 and bit better in cool weather.
I'm from Brasil and a frind of mine brought from italy an original 1461! I little bit tough to break in at the beginning, but now thats awesome and style! I'm in love!
I have a pair of the 1460s and the 101s and I love my 101s so much! I prefer where they fall on the ankle, and I got them in a softer leather type. The 1460s were my first ever pair of DMs, so I got the smooth because I wanted that classic vibe, but I gotta say the Nappa 101s are my everyday shoe (the break in process was SO much easier). Great video!
Within the past month I bought two pairs of Docs. A pair of made in England 1461s and pair of cherry-red Chelsea's. I paid less than $165 American for both. Damn I love bargain shopping. I can't wait to wear my new cherry boots with my new grey Levi's denim jacket.

@@Fodaysway Well, mine are brand new so it's hard to say... Perhaps the leather quality isn't quite as nice? But I know that varies with the different styles, so who can say? My old pair lasted more than six years of near daily wear, then they became my work shoes in different restaurants! I loved them soo much ❤ I can see these new ones lasting much longer just because I'm older and I don't even wear shoes everyday anyhow. Plus I also have a leather pair of Vivobarefoot boots and Teva flip flops!

Maybe go out of your comfort zone and try something different? It's easy to say you don't like something or not your style, but how can you truly know when you've never even tried it? Style and fashion for me is about experimenting and exploring new things. To constantly stick to one thing, sounds in my mind, extremly static and boring. But each to their own I guess. I've had a ton of 1460's, but I love everythign with a platform, and in your face. I have 2 pairs of Jadon, the regular, and the max version. I also have a low cut dress type shoe almost version of the 1460's, but with a bit more narrow rounded pointy toe. I'm not tall either, and it helps, a lot wearing platforms, and it also helps make me look slimmer too. I have been wearing platforms since I was in elementary school, back in the late 90's and early 2000's.
Recently picked up 1460 crazy horse. They are literally unbelievable pair. Leather is superb and literally take them everywhere from hiking to farming. MUST HAVE A+++++
Just sayin docs ain’t known for hiking boots unless you have the paratrooper soles. The boots were originally made for social workers and factory workers. They are slip resistant for oil and they are flat for cops or mailmen to wear when walking.
1460 Pascal Buckingham. Soft, ultra quality leather. Favourite by far ✨ 2976 cashew love the full grain chunky leather … so much character & great quality. They go with everything. Iowa Black canvas is extremely durable and extremely comfy. Tarik is similar but beautiful crazy horse leather version. Difficult to pick least favourite 🤔 Probably 1460 Streeter … Not a fan of the whole synthetic thing. The panels are a nice touch though 🤔

Been wearing 1461s as my weekly church and work shoe since 1994. I did try a pair of 8053s that I really liked that I bought back in 2005 when you could not buy made in England Dr. Martin’s and they were great they lasted for about six years. The only reason I got rid of them was the leather on the top that you referenced ended up cracking and peeling off and I made the shoe ugly. The rest that she was great.
@@Fodaysway I typically wear a pair of 1461's for about 7-8 years before they completely wear out. That's wearing them 5 days a week every week every month every year. Those are the regular 1461s MIE black. I have a pair of Made in England Harold wingtips brown that I wear to church every Sunday, for formal events, and meetings for work when I need to wear a suit, and they still look brand new and I bought them back in 2015. I also have a pair of 1460s Crazy horse I bought winter of 2001 that I still have (MIE) and in fact I was wearing them today as I was doing work around my house and in the yard. I typically only wear them when camping, or doing work where I don't want to roll my ankle. The key to longevity is Wonder Balsam and not dragging your feet.
i love 1490s but i do have big calves al tho they are a bit uncomfortable because they crease in a way they rub your heel and it really hurts but they look great tho
You might like the 1490, it's basically like the 1460 but 10 eyelets instead of 8, plus they do a 1490 bex and they also do a 1460 bex too, which is Dr Martens other outsole, I personally like the bex sole better than the original 😊👌🏻
@@Fodaysway I prefer the bex for multiple reasons, 1. They look better in my opinion and I prefer the bars and crosses sole pattern, 2. It tends to be a lot more durable in my experience, and 3. They tend to not hold onto mud/dirt for as long as the original soles do, not that I'm bothered, as I prefer and love them dirty, and finally, in snow/Ice I feel that the bex sole definitely grips better due to the bars and crossed sole pattern. They do bex sole versions of just about all Doc's I think, both platform and non platform 👌🏻 I'm 6ft 1" but when I have my Jadon's on, I'm 6ft 3", I love the extra height they give me 😁

They also do non platforms bex soled boots, most Doc's models have a bex variant actually, like the 1460 bex, 1461 bex, 1490 bex etc... I know you said you don't do platform boots normally, but you never know, you might actually like them and the extra height they give, I love being 6ft 3" in mine up from my height of 6ft 1"👌🏻 I think a pair of Jadon's would really suit you 😉, and like other Doc's they go with just about any outfit, can be dressed up or down, and leather either scuffed up or shined, whatever you prefer 👍🏻 What shoe size are you pal? I started to wear the DOCS about a year ago. They are so comfortable. A friend said I have to buy a pair of Solavairs. Got them this week, Oxtail Blood Derby. I find the DOCS much more comfortable. Will not buy Solavair again.

Tried the 1461s at the store yesterday, I usually use a size 9.5UK but they only have a size 9 & 10. For me, the size 9 fits a little tight in the toe area, but the length is perfect. Meanwhile, the size 10 gives a perfect fit for my toes, but i feel the shoe is too long and it looks more clunky. What size do you recommend me to buy? Anyway like your videos!
It depends.. if you do not have wide feet then the 9 should fit you because it will mode into your feet after you break into them. How did the 9 feel when you walked around in them?
@@Fodaysway I actually tried it with 2 types of socks, which were thin ankle socks and thick high socks that the store actually sells. With the thin ankle socks I usually use with sneakers, the size 9’s length fits perfectly. But again, my toes was a little bit cramped up, and I could feel the hard leather squishing my toes. For the size 10’s, it felt more breathable, but I felt some space in the front of my toes when I wore it. The back of my foot also kept slipping when I tried walking. When I tried them both with the thick dr. martens socks, the size 9 still made my toes a little cramped, but I didn’t felt the hard leather hitting my toes too much. For the size 10’s, I felt that my foot was still slipping even though I was already wearing thicker socks. Ps: I do have wide feet and it’s why I don’t like to wear converse.
I had some sandals. I found them too heavy, you can’t get them wet, and if you misstep they twist sideways risking a broken ankle. I say pass.

The wintergrips are always great for cold environments.. they are insulated and the sole has rubber on it which helps you to not slip
Im planning on getting the 1461 bex (little bit thicker sole) in brown, they are casual but stylish and would work for autumn
