the tread that flys into the window opening is the little bit that makes this staircase breathtaking. 👏👏 I installed a barrel staircase many moons ago and it still brings a smile to my face

Wwwwow. Everything about this is amazing. The herringbone floors. The trim detail up close, actually is quite good. I wonder how they kined up the compound miter at the top of the trim into that window. Painting, stain, looks so clean. Well done.

This is what you can see instantly with Tony, He absolutely puts the love into what he is doing, he takes it personally, because it matters, because it is a personal reflection of his persona. A craftsman not only in how he applies his skill and knowledge, but also in how his meticulous method manages to capture the moments of the precision he has imparted into them. What a dream for anybody learning the trade to be under his wing. It goes without saying that what you have created here will be enjoyed, caressed and cherished by generations of families over the next 100 or so years.... Fantastic.

Truly amazing piece of joinery worthy of being called a work of art and cheap at double the price. Definitely a case of measuring many times and cutting once with that build.
I think to date the staircase build are still my favourite series of A&E videos. Tony’s skill is just incredible to watch. That’s one very beautiful stairs!
Lovely job Tony, takes me back to my time in Germany shuttering for concrete spiral stairs same setting out plumbing up riser between the floors, 250mm centre of tread 50mm minimum on inside of kite winder, god was some timber went into them spiral stairs,but they turned out beautiful, not as nice as your oak ones may i add top notch

That there is someone at the top of their trade hence why clientele will pay dollar to get someone in like this. No matter where you are in the country, someone at this level would be hired and paid well for the quality and finish. For those aspiring to make it in the trade, look no further than Tony. The problems is passing such skills on to the next generation, I'm not too sure their are many skilled enough to this level, this is where I hope TH-cam can provide some inspiration. You come across as a humble bloke too. Carry on the good work!

Fantastic work Tony! Please tell me this was for your own house? If I had done something of that quality for a client I would be requesting access rights so I could visit it once a year!
You must love a client that wants this sort of object. Could very easily have been a straightforward stair, up, fan and up again, prefab'd through a website. And it would probably have looked pretty nice. But this is the absolute nuts.
Done loads of curved stairs and always used solid outer stings while still being laminated. Mainly because we where shown that way so always did it. But if I where to do another one I want to experiment with veneer like this. One question what thickness was the laminated handrail strips. They looked like 3 or 4mm
I happened upon your videos by pure accident, but boy what a happy accident. I subscribed immediately because I know craftsmanship when I see it. You and your work colleagues are all craftsmen in you own right. It seems to me Tony that you set such a fine example to the people around you that it’s almost impossible not to improve ones skills. Your probably not the cheapest building company around, but from what I’ve witnessed it is a certainty the job will be done the right way every time. It’s a pleasure to watch you all work
