Guruji Pranam, Thank you so much for the wonderful video, which provides a comprehensive guide on creating concert opportunities and win-win situations as precursors to successful concerts.... I have a small question...or rather a contextual suggestion that I seek. If we face a situation where a particular audience is not familiar with the particular art form one practices, there remains a significant challenge in raising awareness for them to appreciate it.... How can we create concert opportunities in such cases, where organizers fear that concerts of less popular musical forms might not attract as much attention or amusement as lighter or other forms? In these situations, artists often end up being underpaid and are not given enough respect.....Thank you in advance.
You rightly pointed out that organizers will fail to comfortably attract huge audiences for Raga Music when they can easily generate them by arranging popular music. This is why certain music is already marked as ‘popular music’ when other genres are marked by other attributes. To address the situation, (1) the Able Raga Musicians [ARM] may put thoughts on content creation and focus on universal elements of music to reach and impress wider audiences. I briefly discussed this in my earlier video, “How do Audiences Listen to Raga Music?” th-cam.com/video/R88v29qyEE0/w-d-xo.html (2) The raga music organizers may try to elevate their presentations and promotions to make the music widely accepted and distributed.
