05.31.2022, 8052. MnDOT’s Historic Roadside Properties Program continues its preservation project in this Lilac Way park in Robbinsdale, MN. Environmental Associates Inc. (EAI) were the experts behind this beautiful preservation. Eleven picnic tables were built using salvaged stone from dismantled Lilac Way parks. The community has waited a long time to see this park restored, and are thrilled with the results. With a keen attention to detail and adherence to the National Park’s Service’s Historic Preservation Standards and Guidelines, MnDOT has brought this 1940 Lilac Way Park back to life.
All restoration and preservation work by MnDOT in 2021-2023 was designed and constructed according to Secretary of Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
