    I bought one after “stumbling upon” the device online. I have had drop-foot for about 15 years, due to a spinal cord tumor. I’ve used some everything in order to improve my quality of life. I’ve used the “traditional” hard plastic braces/afos, I’ve employed store-bought supports, and I’ve been strong proponent and user of functional electrical stimulation devices for many years. I used the Walkaide device for several years, and then I “graduated up” to the L300+, which has been my current, daily device since the summer of 2016. I’ve also used the braces that one laces into their shoes to provide support. I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen or used them all, but I can say that my experience with devices for foot-drop is quite broad! I said all for my people who are understandably jaded by online reports from strangers.
    With all that out of the way, I can honestly report that this device has replaced the L300+ as my new daily use device. It is relatively easy to put on once you get used to it. It gives me lots of support in my ankle. Also, the “bumpers” that go on the back of the device have to be experienced to be believed. I feel much more secure on my feet, including when I’m just standing in place. This is extremely important for me as a teacher, given that I spend a great deal of time on my feet. With the heel cup that goes in your other shoe, it keeps your body properly aligned. I failed to mention that I have scoliosis. This device has done wonders for my back, because my hips are not as uneven when I am wearing the device. Given that my gait is more natural/correct with this device, I can feel muscles working that haven’t been used in years! I love it. I know that you don’t know me. Please don’t take my word for it. Check out the device for yourself. They are relatively cheap. I think I paid $200 and some change for one with the heel cup for the other side, which I highly recommend. By the way, I’m not getting ANYTHING for writing this endorsement.

    I love this brace. I have cerebral palsy with left hemiparesis. This means that I drag my left foot. This brace has been a godsend. It is easier for me to walk I know of a trip and fall as much as I used to. But the best thing about this brace is that you can fit into most sneakers dudes shoes any kind of Footwear comfortably unlike the big clunky ankle foot orthosis braces of the past. Thanks for making this brace not only is it helping me walk better but it's very stylish and I love it thank you

    All afo's was made for its purpose, it does not mean having expensive one works for you, know your level of deficiency, i made an order for the first time and it works perfectly for me without any kind of irratations and discomforts, if this broke? I still go the same, it doesn't need recommendations, do it with yourself, it works for me, footdrops are all different,

    The carbon fiber material does not add value to anyone with drop foot in my estimation. It's the design that will make the difference; and I know most all carbon fiber designs. None are specifically designed for drop foot. The high reimbursement for carbon designs was granted from Medicare for week plantarflexors, which is just the opposite problem of drop foot.

    I’m in the Army, and was wondering if this product would work inside a military boot? Regulation boots must be 8” in height. I am deployed and cannot wear soft-shoe or sandal type. I am continuously tripping over myself, and cannot keep my balance. The top of my foot is numb, as is the outside of my right calf. I walk exactly like the person in this video. It’s very frustrating, and even more embarrassing to limp around...

      I have the same thing. Please get your spine checked out if you haven't already. I waited too long and now it's permanent. I ended up needing total spinal reconstruction and two hip replacements. I am looking for this brace now. I've been through three braces and they're dreadful. None of them fit in boots, only sneakers. I have tactical boots and no brace fits. We'll see if this does but it doesn't look it. Please get your spine checked out because if you need surgery, please get it done early and don't wait. I wish I did but people talked me out of it due to fear. Now I'm permanently paralyzed. I'm going to give this brace a try. The custom ones make my back pain worse.

    • @pstreicher
      @pstreicher 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Insightful-products I just watched again and it doesn't seem as loud as before. I will tell you though that I am very critical of videos with overbearing background music. It always seems as though I picture an audio guy in a booth that is competing with the narrator. The audio guy does the mixing and usually gets his way in the end. I just feel it is distracting and makes it harder to hear the narration. Especially when the narrator speaks at differing volume levels. I notice the narrator volume tends to turn down toward the end of a sentence or section of a clip. There also doesn't seem to be much emphasis on any words that might keep the viewer's attention. Everyone is different of course, including the presenter, I get that. After watching this a second time now I am interested in the cost of this product. One thing I do not like though is the black color. It makes it stand out more and is less appealing. I am used to wearing the typical white plastic ASO brace and it hasn't drawn that much attention. I'm afraid if I wear this model I would gain more attention and would be answering more questions from people. I am still interested though and would not be adverse to trying it, if the cost was within reason.

      Hi Cubensis! You may want to consider our Step-Smart brace design. It is much smaller than other AFO braces for drop foot on the market. Our brace easily fits into sneakers and would likely fit comfortably in cleats! Our customers have been able to comfortably run in our brace as well. If you are interested in learning more about our brace, please feel free to email us directly, sales@insightfulproducts.com!

    Does it work well for Severe foot drop. like the blue rocker device I have now is strong and has good stability but now i want something more comfortable. I dont wanna waste 200 bucks. So my ? is the Step Smart durable and for people with really bad drop foot conditions.

    • @Insightful-products
      @Insightful-products  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello duncan bravo, The Step-Smart brace uses the back of your calf to leverage your toe-up. The Step-Smart brace comes with three different compression bumpers. It is pre-loaded with the Amber bumpers which is the medium weight. It also comes with green and black bumpers as well. The green are the lighter weight and the black are the heaviest weight. The green bumpers will make the most flexible brace and the black will make for the stiffest brace. What you want to do is find the right amount of toe-up with the least amount of pressure on the back of your calf. This is done with trial and error. With very bad drop foot you might find that you need the black bumpers. As for durability, the Step-Smart brace is made for daily use. That being said; normal wear and tear will take a toll. People who use the brace every day and are mobile 10 hours a day are usually buying a new brace every two years. There are many other factors as well. If you use the brace to play basketball on a regular basis, that will add to the wear and tear as well. If we made the brace to last forever, it would be way too heavy and way too expensive. You wouldn't want to wear a brace like that due to it being too uncomfortable. It's a balance that we try to maintain between durability and what people will endure. Best of luck! Yvette (sales@insightfulproducts.com)

      +Insightful Products Hello again, the problem I was having with my brace is the bumpers keep falling when I walk with the brace and also as a result of the foot drop my arch collapsed and the edge of the brace was digging into my arch and making it very uncomfortable.

    • @Insightful-products
      @Insightful-products  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Angela Campbell Hello Angela, Sorry to hear that the brace became uncomfortable. We have a top-cover that can be applied to the foot section of the brace. It is made of leather and gives a bit of cushion under the foot. It may also be that you may need a fully custom Step-Smart. That would require you to see a practitioner and they would cast your foot. They would then send that cast to us and they would purchase the brace from us. At that point they would charge your insurance carrier. Once we receive the cast we would then make a Step-Smart to fit your foot perfectly. Most people do not need this but due to your arch, this might be the best option. Thank you! Yvette (sales@insightfulproducts.com)
