    Felder was simply a bad ass. I can't help but think Frey(rip) was just a little jealous of a guitar slinger (Frey's words) of Felder's caliber!! God Bless all of em!!

    I've been playing for 40 years and have learned most of the songs I know by ear, and your vids are a great addition to my reportoire. Hearing a song, and then getting it right "by ear" is a very satisfying technique to know. As you are aware, it's something that you get better at with practice. I love watching your vids to double check myself, as well as learning new things. Many thanks. ✌️🇦🇺

    I appreciated this video. I learned a lot from it. Been hearing and attempting to play this song since the beginning and I’m still trying to get it after decades. I always suspected it was done in open E but practicality on gigs always had me doing it in standard. I also thought it was Walsh on slide! How have I missed that important detail. . . No wonder, Felder is amazing. I knew he wrote the music but. . . Thanks for the analysis and insight, gonna have to commit and try it in open E. I also never knew that full power chord with the high strings in open E, thanks for showing.

    I can certainly appreciate the lesson{ Open-E( rhythm chords + lead slides ); not necessarily Standard-E + the Mudslide[263] }. I'm loving your delay/ echo. Really, you say it about the dampening and dragging the slide correct! | G | C | G | C | G | B-flat_ A | ! Now, I'm going to try this on my guitar. Thanks!!!

  • @adriangiles5086
    @adriangiles5086 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The no 3rd (G chord) is commonly referred to as for example G5 and in blues-rock its common for the tonic (the I chord or home key) to be an I5 to give that tonal ambiguity. I never considered an open tuning for this but it's so obvious when you lay it out, so thanks, you taught me something. I'm thinking it's a good excuse to get another guitar that's always in say open E and another in open G as well as one in standard tuning.

      It's glaringly obvious the host knows Hotel California is not the Eagles' last official release.
      He as much as acknowledges this in the introductory phase of the discussion ,that he is referring to their last album to examine the disillusion and malaise of the Seventies (My description; not the channel host's).
      The Long Run's release year, if memory serves, was 1980.
      Why do you guys have to complicate matters through seemingly deliberate obfuscation!!? 🤔 🤷🏻‍♂️. 😢 🙏 🤦‍♂️

    Came across your video. Surprised Don Henley has not had it taken down. Just a quick correction you may not know. From reliable sources, Don Felder's book and interviews with Bill Szymczyk, Victim of Love has no overdubs, other than vocals. All the tracks were done live in a single take. Szymczyk was so proud of the track that he scratched a message in the master for the vinyl LP that said something to the effect of "VOL is a five piece live" on side 2 in the close out grooves. I read that message for years and had no idea what it meant until 10 years or so ago. Also the song is on Hotel California not Long Run. I like listening to side 2 of Hotel California every bit as much as side 1.

      Ads are delivered to an audience based on targeted demographics and loads of other data that YT has on all of us. So that ad delivered to you based on some algorithm identifying you as fitting some audience profile that it has targeted. Not saying you're a fan, but it could be age demographic or geography, or many other things. All to say, though, is it has nothing to do at all with the creators you watch on YT. Also, literally half the voting population of the country votes for your candidate and literally half votes for the other. So you could look at it that ad servers have a 50% chance to land on someone who is receptive. Wow, I didn't mean to write a book, but there you go.

According to Rick Beato, Don H. has a room full of 50 copyright bot' operators, just waiting to seize their pound of flesh. Or at least taunt us a 2nd time. Seriously, I learned the whole kit and caboodle. Never played it, or knew the tuning. Oh, and the ceramic slide, sounds great- with your tone, never gets screechy. How are you able to play an Eagles song on TH-cam? Don Henley says he hires 60 people full time to "Copywrite Strike" all channels that play any of his music ( I guess they havent got here yet). Don Henley's Machine would shut this channel down. They could get Ad money from all the teaching channels but Henley is like "NO, we dont want money, We just want to make sure that nobody ever plays our music again!!! If the RIAA had any control over radio, Don would stop them too and The Eagles would never have been played on the radio. They would have very few record sales and probably wouldnt have lasted more than a year. Nobody would learn to play Henley's songs except him and his Ghost writer and I guess that would make him happy. ** In the future there will be No Eagles music because nobody will hear it and nobody will play it**

      Don Henley is the epitome of a depressive, complaining, ungrateful horse's ass -- only ever to be outdone in that respect by Glen Frey. They were wonderful musicians, but I never understood how they were so constantly miserable and bitching about anything and everything.
      I can't imagine how badly Henley was fuming when he was caught withholding evidence in that jury trial a few weeks back, AFTER the defense attorney impeached his credibility by bringing up the incident with the underage girl from the early 80s. I'm sure he was a real treat to be around.
