I once stood about 10 ft away from Brian and Darby wailing on 'People' live in Victoria BC when I was a teenager in the early 1980s. It was one of the most thrilling rock and rock performances I ever saw live, Brian was on fire and Darby looked and sounded great. I have a huge appreciation for Brian's very unique chromatic style of playing the guitar, for me it was inspirational. I always hold him out as one of my guitar heroes.
'too loud' and Darby, the BEST duo in canadian rock history. I unfortunately never got to see Headpins with Brian, but definitely seen them with Darby and the rest of the incredible band.
That Ab Bryant… one of the best bass players you could find. The Headpins are a band that you can’t get enough of. As good as there was and is out there! Love this live version of People.
I’m 53 and haven’t heard this song since I was in the 5:17 7th grade. Listens to a lot of great bass playing since then this is John Entwitsle level. Outstanding.
If I could put one hundred thumbs up 👍 I would, this band is beyond amazing I Love Darby and to load MacLeod if only this band was here today, what a strong energetic common sense band we would have.
Excactly! 👌👏👏👏 These were the days and this is sooo epic. She'd get bruises from her tamborine😳🤣Unforgettable performance, incredible vibe. I feel a band would need to gel really well to reach this caliber. 🎯 Darby is going strong doing many shows. The Pandemic ended live public performances for awhile here but as soon as allowed, D.M.P hit the road A.S.A.P. We are so fortunate to have Darby. There's an excellent mini-biograhy on her website. She's into custom made jewelry too, on her website. She was a dedicated figure skater and is highly accomplished at Taekwondo, including instructing. Talents beyond Talents. 🤩 ✌🇨🇦🌐💐
I went to see her at the Boo Pub in Coquitlam. Her and Paul Janz were guesting a Vancouver band. She looked like a Rock Star in the Leather Jacket and pants. Crazy times. I use to get soused at the Red Robin then head there or Mugs and Jugs in New West.
@@PonderosaSoundStudio Oh yes. Man she is hot in real life. Didn't look real. Not much make-up just great looks and those eyes. Bombshell. Paul Janz thought he was the ultimate rock star. I didn't even know who he was then. But I guess he had some world wide hits. I still don't know what those are.
Darby had a husband early and has been a doting mother and wife for life. I think that got in the way of her advancing. I just can't imagine how she got held back with all her talent and looks.
281 views? Holy shit really!? This song almost took my fuckin' head off when I was a kid! Darby Mills' gravelly, pitch-perfect screaming could scare the shit out of a werewolf and Brian Mcleod could play his motherfuckin' ass off...this band was so fuckin' under-rated it makes me sick...from what I read, this band was louder than shit too, I wish I was old enough to see them back in the day I woulda been hammered outta my skull yelling my fuckin' fool head off!
@ Luke- your whole comment so true! And they were inexplicably underrated. But if they had major financial backing to get exposure & play everywhere like other popular bands had it would have made a difference- the whole band as talented & skilled as the best. But this is why they are so unforgettable!
I found out it they didn’t or couldn’t tour widely enough to push records sales hence not being “worldwide” as other well known bands but if they did the Headpins would have been huge- the sheer talent; gifted. They had it. Listening to this video shows this. The drumming precision, Darby, obviously Brian McLeod, and DAMN, that Ab Bryant is a bass god! Man, no one else plays like this guy! No wonder he’s played in like four popular bands.
this tour was my first concert when they played in bc they were with toronto and they blew them away and if you know holly woods that aint easy to do but darbys voice is amazing 🤘
I could swear they were messing with beat 1 here, but that’s prolly just me. This is by far my favourite Headpins song. With all the ORIGINAL band members. What came after them was just a bunch of wanna-be’s.

That is so awesome! And you are very lucky to have seen the legends of Canadian rock!
Even in the studio, where most bands pull back, they never did. Studio was like live to them.

Wow. What a performance. The original Headpins with too loud Macleod at the helm. Such a shame we lost Brian at such a young age.

I saw these guys in a nightclub back in the 80's. ClubSoda in Vancouver. Those were the days. RIP Brian, his guitar sound was legendary.
Great band, a shame we didn't get more music out of them.
Too Loud is a legend where I grew up. Darby is the penultimate as well. Thank you for soundtrack to my life. Such endurance, the real thing.
Agree well said
He was a waay underrated guitar player !!
Great Guitarist, (my all-time top 5) and amazing bassist!
All these years later... GOOSEBUMPS 🔥🤘.
EVH of the north!
Goosebumps like crazy never stopped listening to the headpins love them
Love this! Darby is such an incredible singer and the band Rox too! Cheers to being Canadian ❤
Always my favorite Headpins song. Brian was amazing, and Darby....well she's Darby! Got to meet her a few years back after a show.
Too Loud was awesome!
Absolutely SICK bass run!!!!
Fucking energy! WOW!
He ranks right up there with the very best of guitar players.

fantastic performance.. these kids rocked the house ... seen them a few times in Canada on the circuit.. always a pleasure :-)
This was my pregame song in football 1983 - state champs - now my son can play the bass riff
Still my favorite to crank in my Corvette.
Darby ROCKS!!!
I love you Darbi

I saw them there too - OMG they were LOUD!!!

awesome band, awesome song!
Never ever got to see To Louds true potential, gone way to soon
I know Darby has an incredible voice, but can we give it up for the woman's tambourine skills? She beats that thing like it owes her money. 👍
Darby had a husband early and has been a doting mother and wife for life. I think that got in the way of her advancing. I just can't imagine how she got held back with all her talent and looks.
Paul Henderson got in the way of her advancing. Too threatening for him. You should read her autobiography
They should keep on touring together
😮 awesome.
I FOOKING LOVE THIS VIDEO !
Too Loud and Ron Tabac are crushing it up there.
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. That's Darby Mills, not Ron Tabac
@@CrosscutFilmsSask Srry. Too Loud and Ron Tabac are crushing it up there in heaven. Maybe with the fella off Loverboy that went missing at sea.
They're both dead. I meant jamming in Heaven.@@CrosscutFilmsSask

Too loud rocked rip
Jesus Brian! Wow!
I saw her at the Boo Pub. I don't think a better looking Girl ever walked the planet.

The greatest Canadian guitarist ever. Our version of Eddie Van Halen

@@LassNoive The current band is the original bassist and drummer. Darby Mills does a Headpins medley in her current show
Bernie Aubin is back on drums?
@@LassNoive Yep
