Kai, I have always done the rasgueado on 2, and a golpe on 3. Is there a benefit to doing the rasgueado on 3 or can I just keep doing it the way I have been?

There's never just one way, so no reason to stop doing it your way! But you can also learn other ways to add variety once you feel comfortable doing that :)
