Elderly Woman Taken to Higher Ground as Flash Floods Hit Ellicott City, Maryland

Harrowing footage shows an older woman being escorted from a Maryland brewery as flash floods ravaged the area. Rescuers risked their lives in what officials are calling the worst flooding in Ellicott City's history. Video shows floodwaters carrying vehicles through the streets. The problem is there is the Patapsco in front of it but there is also a small river that runs under the shops. You can see it flowing out into the river under the bridge.

Hey you guys ! I live about 10 mins from Ellicott City and it’s doing better than it was yesterday evening. My dad works down in Ellicott City and I’m praying that when he goes back to work tomorrow everything will be fine. He and other people that work down there will need to do a whole lot of cleaning up the damage . But I’m praying for Ellicott City . That is my childhood place and I make sure to go down there Once and a while .

I live 15 minutes away from the Flood. The City is on the bottom of a bunch of hills. All the trees were removed so all the water just goes straight down. Our 1 Relatively close Dam doesn’t affect too much. My neighborhood was safe because we aren’t on the hills or anything
