These modern analog polys are so amazing. There are so many features now, and so much depth, you can make sounds that really don’t even sound analog, almost like a softsynth. But, you can still make classic analog sounds as well. And the UIs are lightyears ahead of what we were dealing with even just 15 years ago, besides a Virus. It makes it so much more fun to use and explore. Fun is the reason for music in my life. Since I got a Sequential, I admit I almost never use older gear anymore.
Man, what a sound! Gear like this really makes me just so happy to be here and now. I’m vibing off your enthusiasm too. Us musicians need this in this day and age. Much love…..
I'm gonna come back and watch this again, because there was great playing and helpful information in this. Geez, the filter state as a mod destination is so amazing, it's like a doorway to real magic.
Wow. That last slow jam/exploration was fuckin sublime. For anyone out there who didn't listen on some decent 'phones, I'd say go ahead and listen to that last jam on some decent phones. Incredibly rich, lush, modulating textures. Beautiful.
A Sequential employee confirmed it's the same reverb as the Take 5, they only relabeled the "Damping" knob on the TEO, since (IIRC) on the Take 5, you turn up the damping knob to get less, which is a little confusing.
I really want one when it's available in a couple of months.. but I feel like it's the Take 5 (considering the OSCS are the same) but with the oberheim filter. I have a take 5 and love it but decisions!
I'm in the same spot. It seems redundant to keep both. I'm thinking about picking this up, and then mulling over which one to keep. Hope you have some fun with it.
Back to me to thousand 23, I thought the model I wanted was the Take 5. If I could afford to finally get a VCO polyphonic synthesizer, I think I like TEO-5 better. The Oberheim sound has long appealed to me more than the Sequential sound (even if both synths were built by the same team).
that song of yours at the end of the "looping envelope chords" chapter is siiick, any idea of when we should be hearing about the project or full sound ?
Some people like to watch cat videos. I LOVE to watch people build patches!! :) Sounds VERY COOL!!! As a person with low vision though, I'd hate that very tiny display. I have to use a magnifier with my Minifreak sometimes.
Has anyone else noticed that so often when people demonstrate a polysynth, that they play all unison patches? No chords? I have an idea why this is! Anyone else?
Welcome to the world we’ve created since 1980s? If only we encouraged companies to build here instead of build elsewhere to make money for the stock holder.
Pretty every synth that is being made now has the very least all electronics made in China. This is includes everything by Moog, Sequential, Korg, Roland, Yamaha, etc.

Sequential is definitely making some of the best synths on the market.
Which one did you get?
Basic preset key combo is on page 6 in the manual: hold TRANSPOSE DOWN and hit LOW SPLIT -2
Bless u
On the Take 5 the basic program shortcut is "transpose down" + "low split -2 oct"
Thanks I'll try that!!

Wow. If I didn’t have a Take 5 this synth would be a no brainer. I may still get one because I love that filter.
I have a Take 5 and a Pro 3, and have already pre-ordered the TEO-5. It's like the perfect synth trifecta!
The sound is gorgeous. You created some really beautiful sounds. Sequential will sell a lot of these. Probably more than anything else they have.
The's something about those horizontal blue lines on the front panel that just... so. damn. sexy!
best video on the TEO 5 I've seen. I really liked that you also showed the synth in an actual song!
Pure synthwave machine. I get the appeal and the sound is great.

That first 30 seconds. Wow.
When it transitioned into “pretty sequence” i started crying, the emotion hit me like a ton of bricks
TEO-My
Oberheim do oscillators and filters good.
This was a fun listen while doing the yard work. Thank you.

Well damn. Nice job on their end. It's a real stunner.
oh yeah 🎹
Wow man, u'r one mean sound-designing maschine.
I like it!
18:15 that creepy thing was badass! 🔥😱♥️
Christ that sounds amazing in your hands. The little cut away you did was wonderful
Sounds great. May need to pick one of these up someday.
This synth, and those track excerpts sound SO FREAKIN GOOD! Excited for when you're allowed to talk about/release em.
I wonder if it can sound as massive as a OB-X8. I like the sound of TEO-5 a lot, very warm and musical.
Who would have guessed a fox on a keyboard would sound so good. :D
Sweet sounding Obi!!
Excellent video, even better synthwave tracks. Great stuff Jeremy
Hooooooly cow, that song at the end is incredible and i cannot wait to hear it!! Will you announce here when that project goes live?
If any of the work I've done for this project makes it to the end I absolutely will be shouting about it.
Sounds amazing. Mesmerizing even.
Man... This makes me like this thing even more than I already did.
Wow, brilliant informative demo just preordered! Thanks sooo much
Nice work, Jeremy!
Any inside info on whether a desktop version is in the works?
oohhh some synthwave incoming :D Let us know when its out.
1:40 synthwave clip is awesome! Hoping those four tracks end up on Bandcamp!

Great fun, love the sounds and the jams.
Is it possible to have the same osc frequency note display on the Take 5?
Great sounds.
Love it
Can you create any choir type sound with this synth?

How are the knobs on the synth? Is it like the pro-3 or more loose? I've owned an OB-6 once, which i loved, but the knobs feld a bit loose to me.
I have heard it mentioned in other videos that the knobs are solid and do not wobble
I’ve got one here and can confirm they are solid
Great demo and sounds!
i think i have found a synthesizer to pair with my Monomachine
that song of yours at the end of the "looping envelope chords" chapter is siiick, any idea of when we should be hearing about the project or full sound ?
If only there was a little knob on the back of the board next to the left/right out that could be turned for panning.
If I hadn‘t an OB-X8m and an OB-6, this would be a no-brainer.
Daam soo good
Is there an affordable midi controller that you could recommend? Or could you make a video for new-commers?

Someday I'd like to get a nice polysynth. But ... maybe not until I win the lottery or something. 😇
好棒,我上月teo5一出来就下单了,但还没发货。。。
I think they are scheduled to start shipping in a month or so from now
@@bigjayrillah3508 thanks for info.
It's GTA6 isn't it.
It's ok Jeremy. You can tell me.
trying to be normal about the pad you did at the end (not succeeding)
Tiss an Oderbeim. 💀
It's sad that this machine is 'made in china' while everything from sequential is either made in usa or at least assembled there, sounds amazing tho
It’s perfectly fine if you like one made in the USA - just get any other Oberheim!
Welcome to the world we’ve created since 1980s? If only we encouraged companies to build here instead of build elsewhere to make money for the stock holder.
Can almost guarantee that whatever device you used to view this video and type this comment on was also made in China.
The thing that kind of nullifies that for me, is you hear so few complaints about Take 5 QC
Pretty every synth that is being made now has the very least all electronics made in China. This is includes everything by Moog, Sequential, Korg, Roland, Yamaha, etc.
Piano/organ controls and no patch cables needed? Not my cup of tea.
Well, some like it messy to make noise and some like it neat to make music
@@Youbadouba wonderful. Different spice for every pallette!
@@beerchiller9878never heard anything good from a eurorack anyways. Just noise
That track at 19:20 gave me goosebumps
