They are also destroying themselves by already saying they are going to go after anyone broadcasting the debate, like youtubers, even if they are adding commentary and fact checking, which is fair use.
We will see if they go through with it, but trying to gatekeep a presidential debate like that is not going to be a good look when it comes to public opinion. I am sure they will at least try and go after those who are trying to shed light on CNN's biases towards Biden and against Trump.

I understand, but taking these interviews actually helps Trump massively. The American public sees the media bias, and only a small % of ultra liberals support it. Many, many people will be turned off if Trump is treated unfairly in the debate by CNN. It is beautiful watching the left have zero clue how to correct their loser messaging.

Hold the debate without moderators. Put a bucket center stage, with sealed questions, that can be answered by either candidate. Have Candidate 1 draw a question, take it to his podium and read it out loud. Push button 1 on the speaker to answer the question, it will remain live for 2 minutes. Answer question. Candidate 2 has 2 options. Push button 2 to rebut for 1 minute, or choose a question from the bucket.
