Thanks for the memories. Harvey, Al and Lloyd were a big part of my youth. Once the latter two moved on, Harvey was that connection to my past. Harvey used to do out of town Playoff games/updates in the early 60’s as well.
My favorite Harvey moment.... i was at a game, and Harvey goes to make his famous "one minute to play in the period" announcement, but the puck got flipped into the crowd a second before (leaving 1:01 left). Harvey handled it like a pro ---- "one minute, and one second to play in the period!". Then right after the subsequent faceoff-- "one minute to play in the period"... lol..... I used to keep score at games and his announcements were always very clear and a great help. Great memories.
“we invite you to tune in next week at the same time, as tony esposito, will tell us about the pressure of goaltending, how to play different shooters in the league, and the difficulty playing with curve sticks, and straight sticks. thanks a lot, we’ll see you next week.” man. i wish i could see that video. the only all of hockey video is the one with keith magnuson. i wish someone saved that clip so it wouldn’t be lost.
I always thought Harvey have his place with the timekeeper like Claude Mouton did in the Forum for the Habs. Harvey annonces the last minute in the booth!
Harvey Wittenberg at Chicago Stadium was the greatest PA Announcer in all of sports. Something about his cool voice that can't be described.

Unmistakable voice , greatly missed
The Blackhawks should just hire a PA annoucer who sounds just like Harvey Wittenberg.
Harvey Wittenberg was the voice of Chicago Stadium.
Dangit we all miss Harvey.
I liked it when Harvey used to say, "...and when cheering for the Blackhawks, please use proper language."
And before that, "...please use language fit for the ears of women and children."

I'll take "boring" monotone PA announcer any day over the loud and obnoxious PA announcers
Absolutely!
