- Bear with me on this one... it's been awhile since I last created these kind of videos.. plus I have struggled so much putting this one together considering I started on this back in late Dec of 2020 lol
But anyways, here is somewhat of a messy-short recap I did of Xue Yang's story and the Yi City arc. I know I'm missing quite a lot but again it's been awhile. This character truly had one of the most misfortunate childhood's growing up and because of his traumatic experiences he went on living with the idea of vengeance throughout all his years - causing others many sufferable misfortunes as well.

The scene where Xue Yang is still holding onto the candy Xiao xingchen gave him breaks my heart everytime!
he is my everything. I loved Lan Zhan and Wei Ying first, but as soon as I saw him on the rooftop for the first time, I knew he will be my favourite. I cried so much when he died. He is not the typical villain you hate and can't wait for being punished, but the one you want to hug, cuddle and give candies to and even try to change him for the better. HaoXuan explained his character and he clearly got the essence of this character. I simply adore XueYang not for what he did, all those killings and all but his personality, like he wants to change, he feels happy with XXC and feels regret when he dies, he breaks down upon realizing he lost the only person who truly cared about him, he regrets it, he tries his best to bring him back even if it's not possible. He longs for happiness, being taken care of, loved, I felt sorry for him. He is a little child inside with love for candy. Candy: sweet treats, I htink it represents the love he was longing for, he wanted candies and with those he wanted the sweet happy life. Candy represents the happiness he longed for, for me at least it does.
I don't think I will ever get over the Yi City arc. TRAGIC! The three of them suffered so much.
The despair of Xiao Xingchen and the everlasting regret of Xue Yang and Son Lang. They both lost their most precious one in life. Xue Yang, however, breaks my heart coz of the punishment he got for his crimes.. losing his "light" in life and KNOWING that Xiao Xingchen doesn't want anything to do with him. He shattered him and in return shattered himself 💔

He's a very nuanced and tragic character, just like the arc itself. No comfort, only hurt. It's all doomed from the start.
Xiao xingchen and xueyang bond was something different!!! xueyang loved xingchen but in a toxic way:-)

You’re still so amazing. This video really brought back out the emotions I felt when I first watched eps 37-39... A whole depressing tragedy that all of them didn’t deserve to be in.
Xue Yang is the foil for WWX and Jiang Cheng and Wen Ning, everyone suffered huge losses in this drama but these three managed to hold onto their principles and maintain their decency. Xue Yang turned into a psychopath who killed innocent people even though he had ample opportunity to repent, he never did. Even his trying to resurrect, the blind one who cared for him, was for his own self pity and to serve his own selfish needs above anyone else. I do pity him for his misfortune but his evil cannot be forgiven. One of the major themes in this drama is how people react to misfortune they can turn better or evil.
Look at you breaking hearts! Literally, I teared up watching this. How are you so good at this? That part of XingChen holding on to the sword asking if it’s Song Lan and showing the flashback of them when they were both fine to then their current state.. yeah, that hurt 😔 thank you though for feeding us more cql content. ily! and I hope we get to see a mdzs vid soon!!

Even though Untamed is already a master piece. I'm still left me wanting a little more, hence why 5 month later I'm still watching their BTS & every new videos on youtube. LOL
I remember accidentally watching the yi city arc on TH-cam way before I started the drama... this arc is gotta be the best plot I have ever known!! I absolutely loved it

I understand that XY is a dark narrative foil. I understand that he is a fictional character and he is supposed to give the audience some kind of catharsis. But. I just don't like him. You made a great video out of it though.
