A Sonic Soundtrack, “Right There, Ride On” can only be unlocked through the Worldwide VS mode. If anyone is willing to play globally, I’m up.
I think the biggest loss is triforce-heroes. Cause that game will basically become unbeatable when the online shuts down... Unless you have 2 other friends to play with locally you'll be stuck with the game's crappy single player... (Thankfully i beat it a couple years back but if you have the game and haven't beaten it yet this is your last chance to do so.)
I like the single player in that game. I finished every single level and challenge that way. In fact, it even made completing the Den of Trials easier, haha.
The only big loss on wii u is Xenoblade x to me since most of the other wii u Stuff i care about is basically on switch but better and i have a modded 3ds and i never played the multiplayer stuff online anyway

First Nintendo Wii U and 3DS éShops were Closed forever, and now Wii U and 3DS Onlines are coming to the End. I've never played Wii U or 3DS games on an Online, because I've always played Solo Games like Platformers on a Wii U and 3DS. But I still remember it like a yesterday when I got a Wii U in my borthday over 10 years ago in 2013 and my first Wii U Games were Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World, in a last year 2023 I've solded Wii U Mario Kart 8 away, because I have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, but I still have the First Super Mario Maker and Super Smash Bros for Wii U games, defienitily I have good memories with Super Mario Maker, but about of Super Smash Bros For Wii U, I tryed that at the First Time in a last weekend and man that Smash is good almost like 3DS Smash what was my the First Super Smash Bros Game ever. It's hard to believe Maeio Kart 8 is freaking 10 years old game, that makes me to feel an old wow. I transferred all my Pokemon from bank to Ultra Sun. One living Dex, all the way through Alola, and a box full of shinys I bred and caught. Never going to the next gen.
I used to have a american 3DS, but im european and the thing is region locked. I only had pokemon x and omega ruby. But i got a european one a few years ago and have been playing a lot of stuff i missed out on since then. I love this system.
To be honest, personally, I’ll only really miss Splatoon online play (and the Squid Sisters’ intro). At the very least, the single player campaign, the mini games and amiibo still work. The latter is quite something with Callie and Marie, as they can offer select songs and Splatfest concerts in the Plaza.

Would’ve been nice if I could play online on my wii u if my wifi router didn’t reset and require a new password which I can’t put into the settings of my wii u since you require the gamepad to go into settings which is broken and won’t charge. I’m going to miss 3DS and Wii U online play so much. It was so fun to play online with anyone. I have the best memories ever doing that I’m just hoping they will import that on Nintendo Switch Online for Nintendo switch. That would be really cool. You don't need to worry they are just shutting down their servers and so the systems will still have Internet access and you'll be able to do whatever modding you want
It was such a fun ride while it was still fresh. Despite it not doing well, i was one among the few that legitimately enjoyed the Wii U. Along with the 3ds. More especially since i didn't get a PS4 up until towards the end of my high school year. I'll never forget religiously playing Mario Kart and Splatoon on the Wii U, even watching TH-cam on it. To this day, i regret tossing my Wii U since it pretty much outlived its usefulness with a bunch of good games ported onto the Switch. Regret it even more back when eShop's closure announcement. I still play on my 3ds but not as much with the online features. Rip to a good DS successor and to a bad, yet special console.
I have used the 3DS online to finally complete my living form dex in Pokemon Y and Pokemon Moon. It will be impossible without the GTS and without the ability to trade with friends over the net.

Well I have some questions. When Online Shuts down for these consoles if you want to play locally with a friend or family member in the same house using another controller does it affect that as well or can you still play together locally, just not with people worldwide? Also what about internet connection on 3ds? Will your wifi just not connect to it after this too? Or is it just the game servers being affected and not the actual console connection?
Local is all good, as it doesn’t require any internet. However I’m not sure about the second question, tryna figure that out myself. EDIT: just found out things like the internet browser will still run, only the game servers shutting down
Man, I'm tempted to hook the Wii U up and see if anyone is still taunt partying in Smash. I don't necessarily miss nearly every lobby being a taunt party, but sometimes it was fun to just get on there and goof off. I despite Ultimate's online where I can't even get into the kind of match I want to play, where the type of game I'm playing changes randomly every few matches without even notifying me, where I constantly end up in sweaty 1v1 games when I just want to play 4 player timed matches, where I'm forced into ranked mode even though I don't want to play ranked and where I'm not allowed to change my character without leaving the lobby.
To those conplaining about why they had to do this, they had to in order to focus on newer projects. If they left the eshop and online forever, it would have cost them too much. Its the same reason they shut down the servers of the original Wii and DS in 2014.
Actually the Wii and DS servers shut down because Nintendo didn't run them, a company named GameSpy did, when that went down, so did everything that used it. Halo CE's 2003 PC port also used them and it shut down in 2014 too. If Nintendo had control over it I assume they would have shut them down at a later date, The DSi Shop closed in 2017 and the Wii's in 2020, it likely would have been around then.

Would’ve been nice if I could play online on my wii u if my wifi router didn’t reset and require a new password which I can’t put into the settings of my wii u since you require the gamepad to go into settings which is broken and won’t charge.
I loved the wii u, but I think I understand why others didn’t now…

No. Download Play is local multi-player.
It means that you can no longer play online multiplayer on both 3DS and Wii U consoles officially.

luckily I'm not a big fan of online playing but I used it when necessary (obtaining something important that isn't possible offline)
I’m going to miss 3DS and Wii U online play so much. It was so fun to play online with anyone. I have the best memories ever doing that I’m just hoping they will import that on Nintendo Switch Online for Nintendo switch. That would be really cool. I’m gonna be playing online one last time before it shuts down eventually, this really makes me feel sad. I’m gonna miss it so much the memories will always stay with me
I know that people hated the Nintendo Wii U but I still love the game system. It was fun but now it's sad of how the online will die in 2 weeks. But just why bother taking it down?

Looks like they did it early. I can’t sign into my Nintendo network id anymore or play anything that utilizes online play. Anyone else experiencing this?
Hopefully I can get HShop installed on my 3ds before then.
I’m not sure they can shut down the whole internet for the 3ds just the individual games. They did say Pokebank is staying for now
FYI they shut down the internet on dsi for games but the internet is still working on dsi like browser
You don't need to worry they are just shutting down their servers and so the systems will still have Internet access and you'll be able to do whatever modding you want

It was such a fun ride while it was still fresh. Despite it not doing well, i was one among the few that legitimately enjoyed the Wii U. Along with the 3ds. More especially since i didn't get a PS4 up until towards the end of my high school year.
I'll never forget religiously playing Mario Kart and Splatoon on the Wii U, even watching TH-cam on it. To this day, i regret tossing my Wii U since it pretty much outlived its usefulness with a bunch of good games ported onto the Switch. Regret it even more back when eShop's closure announcement. I still play on my 3ds but not as much with the online features.

These games will be missed. The game I played the most is Colors 3D, I will miss using it as my drawing tablet.
I have used the 3DS online to finally complete my living form dex in Pokemon Y and Pokemon Moon. It will be impossible without the GTS and without the ability to trade with friends over the net.

There are fan servers through Pretendo that are accessible.

Gosh... I really wanted to spend these last few weeks playing Wii U Online, but the battery on my Wii U gamepad is bad and now I can't use the console...
Well I have some questions. When Online Shuts down for these consoles if you want to play locally with a friend or family member in the same house using another controller does it affect that as well or can you still play together locally, just not with people worldwide? Also what about internet connection on 3ds? Will your wifi just not connect to it after this too? Or is it just the game servers being affected and not the actual console connection?
Local is all good, as it doesn’t require any internet. However I’m not sure about the second question, tryna figure that out myself. EDIT: just found out things like the internet browser will still run, only the game servers shutting down

Man, I'm tempted to hook the Wii U up and see if anyone is still taunt partying in Smash. I don't necessarily miss nearly every lobby being a taunt party, but sometimes it was fun to just get on there and goof off. I despite Ultimate's online where I can't even get into the kind of match I want to play, where the type of game I'm playing changes randomly every few matches without even notifying me, where I constantly end up in sweaty 1v1 games when I just want to play 4 player timed matches, where I'm forced into ranked mode even though I don't want to play ranked and where I'm not allowed to change my character without leaving the lobby.

To those conplaining about why they had to do this, they had to in order to focus on newer projects. If they left the eshop and online forever, it would have cost them too much. Its the same reason they shut down the servers of the original Wii and DS in 2014.
Then why does Sony still keep PlayStation Network alive on PS3?

Actually the Wii and DS servers shut down because Nintendo didn't run them, a company named GameSpy did, when that went down, so did everything that used it.
Halo CE's 2003 PC port also used them and it shut down in 2014 too.
If Nintendo had control over it I assume they would have shut them down at a later date,
The DSi Shop closed in 2017 and the Wii's in 2020, it likely would have been around then.
