    No doubt, great attention to detail... but to cut two genuine seat cowls... that stung a little.

    Thanks for the inspiration! Yesterday I did the same pillion cover modification to my own VFR. I did it very carefully, did not even scratch the paint! A remark about the Chinese discs. I understand all about costs, yet I would advise against Chinese parts in general and certainly discs. They look OK, yet in my experience they tend to often lead to things like brake judder very quickly, the quality seems to be suspect. Apart from the fact that we should not buy cheap Chinese stuff at all. But that is a political statement and you do not have to agree with that of course. Very useful videos and nice to watch, thank you!

      Pleasure mate. They look so good sticking out!
      I’ll check the deterioration of those fronts thanks 👍

    One of the very few people that possess the skills to not only replicate Honda brilliance, but potentially improve on it..
    I've started to watch your carbon bike channel (you should link it here) and am very impressed with your workshop. Would you consider doing motorbike bodywork repair and resprays?

      That’s Jamie, very cool comment. Yes I’m in the process for slowly connecting the whole thing without isolating groups of interest but it’s all moving in the right direction. Wait till you see what is coming…😉

    I'm not familiar with VFRs, but it looked like the brake disc bolts had residue of red thread locking compound on them. I didn't see you re-apply any before re-installing them. It may be worth checking the factory service manual to confirm if any is required.

      I should also mention that I'm enjoying your videos! I'm an American with an early Kawasaki Ninja, but I love seeing your work on old British bikes, and now these Hondas. Your editing style is also unique and interesting compared to the other folks I follow. Keep it up!

      Well spotted Seth! I am going to apply a locking compound once the wheels are done. I needed to check how these Chinese discs fitted. Thanks for you kind comments.
      Stick around wait until you see what 2 bikes are coming…

      Thanks Guy, good idea on angled valves! Tyres are shot. Forks and other bits will be painted. Although not a full nuts and bolts restoration it should look great. The finish on the panels are 2nd to none so far. Hours of work..all in preparation for the next project to be announced..stay tuned!

    Nice job working that dent out of the tank. Do you sand the decals all the way off of the tank and cowl pieces? Looking forward to seeing everything after paint.

    • @MyRestoration1
      @MyRestoration1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi 427walrus, yes every thing off on this project. I’m customising the decals + I dislike transfer decals for many reasons. They are too thick if you want a flush finish. The other issue is that if you are only paint restoring, unless you get the colour around the decal bang on it will not work. Hope that helps.

    I thought that you take the grab bars off to fit the seat hump? I have neither on my Gen 5 as i have a rack so i maybe wrong.

    • @MyRestoration1
      @MyRestoration1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that’s the way they designed it but I think it’s a paint to modify for a quick ride so now the cowling can accommodate. I happen to think it adds something to the look. In my opinion!

      @@MyRestoration1 That's how Honda should have done it OEM. IMHO. Looks good and more useful.

      @@Scarletpimp72 let’s see when I present the finished bike. Trust me. This is what Honda should have done. It’s not only logical but the ‘devil’ horns break up a large chunk of shape. I think apart from the practicality it’s looks ‘correct’ BTW. These VFRs are looking stunning in the new paint. I can’t wait to share it!
