    I have multiple ear piercings as well. I have multiple helix piercings in each ear, rook, daith, tragus, conch and 4 earlobe piercings on each ear and my nose is also pierced. Something that has helped me and I swear by it is crushing up some aspirin and put a dash of sea salt and enough water to make a paste....then put the aspirin and sea salt mixture all over the keloid and leave it on all night long. In the mornings clean as usual with antimicrobial soap and put tea tree oil on. Within a few days keloids are completely gone. Also, a travel pillow really does help. Something else you could also do since you don't have a travel pillow is roll up a smaller blanket or towel and put it in a circle and lay your head on that. That will also help eliminate pressure on your ear piercings.

    The sea salt paste you recommend has been a life changer for my ear piercings! My job, hobbies, entire life basically involves animals that somehow always manage to knock my ears and so piercing bumps are a constant thing. From bumping heads with a horse, getting whacked by bird wings, and dogs being super playful, all my piercings bumps have been taken care of with your sea salt paste. I've even used it on GIANT, stubborn zits! Though I definitely caution using it for zits and recommend it only as a last resort if your skin is sensitive. Just like with piercing bumps, it dries out the zit but also means drying out the surrounding skin.

      That is so awesome! I am SO glad it worked for you! Yeah it's SUPER drying but it works so well! haha use with caution as with everything in life but it truly does work and I'm so glad it works for you! :D xoxo

    Im a side sleeper and I got my rook and conch done on my left ear. I've found if you create a "hole" into your pillow with your fist, that way your ear goes into the hole and the rest of the pillow supports you. This has helped me so much with healing!!! Hope this helps!!! 😜

    Oh so that's the bump on my ear beside my helix piercing. I still have it there even year after taking it out. I always thought it's just the skin buildup from pushing skin apart by a needle lol.
    It just never really bothered me aside the whole piercing being uncomfortable to sleep on and squeezing against my scalp or catching in my hair or scarfs.

    I got my double auricle a couple of weeks ago and I am so scared of the healing process. For your bumps, you could use the no pull piercing disk. I used this for my nose piercing bump and it worked wonders. Also you could kinda bend your arm in a triangle shape and rest your ear in the space between. That's what I do now that my auricles are healing. It's comfy af too. Good luck Bree ❤️

    I mistakenly got an industrial bar in one ear and then my double helix done on the other ear without realizing the sleep situation. If you’re thinking of getting pierced in both ears then I’d suggest picking up a neck pillow or travel pillow. Not for your neck but so you can lay your head down and your ear isn’t being irritated because of the shape of your pillow, your ear will fit inside the hole of the travel pillow allowing it to heal well. This worked for me, both have healed and are keloid free.

    Hey Bree! I'm sorry to hear that you've developed keloids on your new ear piercings. I had one behind my left ear. I used the rubberband method to get RID of it. But I still have some SCAR TISSUE in the spot where it was. I'm SURE that you'll be OK. Keep your piercing videos coming.

      @saffirechanning7286 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BreeAnn823 My situation was DIFFERENT from yours. Like you said, you have those HYPOTROPHIC SCARS but I had HUGE KELOID behind my left ear. Years ago, I got a THIRD set of earlobe piercings but I didn't take care of 'em because I was going through a DEPRESSING breakup with a guy. So I know how it is when you get DISTRACTED with other things in your life. Anyway, I had taken OUT my piercings studs. In my attempt to keep my piercings OPEN, I UNWISELY stuck a safety pin through my piercings. That's how I developed a HUGE, UGLY keloid behind my left ear. Eventually, I did go to a dermatologist to have it surgically removed but it just GREW right back! After I became AWARE of TH-cam, I did some research. Some 'expert TH-camrs' recommended using a SMALL, TIGHT rubberband to get rid of keloids, which I did. You take the SUPER-SMALL rubberband and WIND it AROUND your keloid as TIGHT as you can. The rubberband CUTS off the BLOOD CIRCULATION to the keloid, which slowly KILLS the keloid. Of course, the process is painful but that's because the rubberband is doing its JOB of CUTTING OFF the BLOOD CIRCULATION to your keloid. You just have to TOLERATE the pain, which I did. With the BLOOD CIRCULATION CUT OFF from the keloid, it starts to DIE. Eventually, the keloid starts to turn color and eventually just FALLS OFF! In my case, my keloid hasn't grown back either. But I do still have some scar tissue in that area. Still, that's PREFERABLE over having that HUGE, UGLY mass of SCAR TISSUE sitting behind my left ear. I have a NEW SET of THIRD earlobe piercings now, which are doing fine.

    Ugh keloids are the worst! I've had to deal with many, many of those nasty things on basically all my piercings. Matter of fact, I've been fighting a huge one on one of my nipple piercings for two weeks now. First day or so I used band aids to cover it so it wouldn't bleed on my clothes. Lucky me, I had a reaction to the adhesive on the band aids because it literally tore my skin as I removed them! So not only did I have those little bumps on my piercing, I also had scabs and bruises from the freaking band aids. It looked like a wild animal had attacked my boob. It's been a long process, but it's just about normal. Love all my piercings, but they can be a pain to deal with sometimes! 😂

I notice I end up on my back through out the night so I try to use my travel pillow to not lay on the bar. Glasses are hard to whare because the bar is so long right now. I tried having the bar sit in the middle so I can clean it, but everytime i sleep it pushes forward because I end up sleeping on my back without relizing it. I hope we can get another update soon. How long do you wait to downsize? Just wondering out of curiosity. Sorry for the long comment.

I took care of it slept on a travel pillow o cleaned it. And some how my ear got infected and it resulted in my ear swelling 3 times it’s size and I had to be in antibiotics for a week and to be honest I loved the piercing I would get it again but I would go to a different shop. Now the shop I went too I have been going there for years and never had a problem now as to where the infection came from it’s debatable but be careful with new piercings

    Hi Bree! Absolutely love your vids :) I have a question and maybe you know more due to exp. But on a few of my piercings I don't get actually keloids. What does happen is that it swells up. Like kinda a tube forms around the jewlery post (ear piercing). It is not infected I think but a little painfull. And after a year it still does not want to go! I give religious seasalt soaks and sleep on the other end but it is so so persistent and such a shame as I don't want a annoyed piercing anymore and just one I can finally enjoy.

      "Keloids" are considered a medical condition. The ones you see on piercings are considered "hypertrophic scarring" but they are referred too as "keloids" in the piercing world by some people. If it's a medical condition a doctor can treat it yes

      It is possible that fibers of the cotton can get into your piercing and therefore cause irritation. Similar to getting hair into it while piercing or changing it, happened to me once and I Iearned my lesson 😂

    I have a questions since you seem to know a lot about piercing. I have a helix piercing and a daith piercing where huge keloids has being formed although I follow your suggestions I wonder in your opinion does pregnancy has anything to do with why those keloids are not going anywhere.

    • @amandatucker1712
      @amandatucker1712 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this question is not for me, but I had a Hypertrafic scar aka a keloid on my daith peircing and I had to get it re-peirced because it formed due to my daith not getting peirced in the correct spot. I would ask a proffeshanal peircer in your area and see what he/she suggest to do. I would probably wait until a bit until after your baby is born and if you decide to nurse I'd wait before getting anything re-peirced. Sorry for any spelling errors and I hope I make sence.

    What you are talking about isn't keloids and they don't look like, nor should they be treated the same way. Keloids are a medical condition that need to be diagnosed by a doctor and needs medical treatment (multiple cortisone shots are a common treatment) to be removed. What you likely have are hypertrophic scar tissue (irritation bumps) and those go away without medical intervention and are way more common than keloids. Typically you want to figure out what is causing the irritation (either physical trauma or chemical irritation) and find a way to avoid that irritant (stop sleeping in it, avoid harsh products, need a different size/style of jewelry, etc). Misusing the terms is as harmful as mixing up any other medical conditions.

      @@BreeAnn823 I watched the entire thing. But what good comes from continuing to use the wrong medical condition when you even say that you know that it isn't what you have? People with keloids can't use any of your advice and could be harming themselves by following it instead of seeking medical advice.

      @@BreeAnn823 Why not use your large platform to educate people by using the correct term? You have the ability to help further people's piercing knowledge but you said you don't want to use the correct term because it is commonly called that. But the reason the general public calls it that is because they are getting misinformed by people who aren't doing their due diligence to put out accurate information. And to be honest, I was totally surprised that you chose to use the incorrect condition since I thought you wanted to help educate people on all things piercing related.
