I just finished my Suzuki 1 book, and it’s the traditional thing to do a recital of all the songs in one. Looking back, it’s crazy how you can go from twinkle twinkle little star, to Gavotte. It took me a long time to complete this book, because I was a stubborn 8 year old who didn’t practice my violin. Not to mention, I was a busy kid, and didn’t usually take summer and winter lessons. So it took me 4 years to complete this book. Not to mention that it takes a while to get used to play, so if you have trouble, just remember that the beginning is the hard part. (Well, until you get to the last book, which is just one, long, song...)
It's been over 25 years since I've played my violin. I've just put it in the shop for some repairs, and I've located my 3 Suzuki books. As I listened to you play and read along with the notes I felt long hidden memories and "knew" where my fingers belong when I bring my violin home. I'm amazed, excited, hopeful, and thankful for this video!
I'm so thankful to find such professionally made videos with bowing and fingering. I can only imagine the time you spent recording and editing! I'm a 42 years old adult learner. In 2018, I learned from a teacher using strictly strings violin book 1 for 3 months. Unfortunately, my left shoulder developed deep pain, because I loved the sound of violin so much that I practiced 2 hours a day for weeks. I paused for 2 years till one of the friend remembered my playing before and encouraged me to carry on. My shoulder recovered pretty well, still have some slight discomfort, but hardly noticeable if I practice with a balanced plan and taking sufficient breaks in between :) After coming across your video, I think I should try to switch to Suzuki books. Thank you!
Thank you for visiting my channel. Strictly String is also very good method book. Usually, I use the Suzuki book for the main method and also use Strictly String as supplemental. If you use both of them, it will be great. Hope you start to learn the violin again :)
I'm 39. I've been playing the violin from a couple of years now. From my experience muscles pain hit different at my age, also recovery time from such pains takes longer. I found out no more than 20 min a day is the perfect balance for me and also in 2 years I still managed to make enormous progess. Hope this may help you. Keep practicing!
@@antoncigur3727 Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It helps me to be aware of rests, I now practice 15-20 minutes as one session, more sessions if I have time through out the day, with skips of busy days in life. Pinky and vibrato are present bottle necks I encountered. Not mentioning playing in tune. 😅
This is great. Absolutely outstanding. Thankyou very much. I'm 69 and just finding out that I love the violin. Do you think that I can learn to play these songs and more.

God bless. Thanks a lot for playing without vibrato, top-view of the fingers, and on time music sheet. The whole video is very well made. Godsend
