Great work as always in showing off these really nice trails in Wisconsin. This video brought back memories of riding in some of these areas many years ago.. Wisconsin really does have a lot to offer for bike touring! Thanks for the great video!!
I love riding in Wisconsin. Lots of great trails. It's where I started bike touring many years ago. Feels like home. Thanks again, Bud. Hope to see you soon.
That was simply amazing! Your drone filming is SO HIGHLY incredible too! Drone views add SO much to scenic environment! Wisconsin is over-the-top beautiful! Your upright handlebars are hugely catching on in TH-cam videos too. Drone footage adds SO much to your already incredible filming! Seeing you ride by in scenic views is really incredible viewing too! Thank you, Paul, for your sharing!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Here's a link to my handlebars. Wald 1066 Handlebars amzn.to/3fLRHVH I love Wisconsin. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Another great video! Thanks Paul for sharing so many great places to ride your bike. Really inspiring to encourage more people to get out and ride their bikes.
"Hey Kids, vacations over, get back to school.... HAH" LOVE IT!!!!! Love my days off during the week. 16:09 as soon as I heard Whitefish Bay I couldn't help sing the song...
Congratulations on your retirement!!! I think your adventurous spirit is going to serve you well. Thank you for your quick geological lesson. Ice is so powerful. Enjoyed your travelogue on Door County.
😆 Haha! Vacation's over, get back to school! As someone who is retiring very soon, I can relate. Planning our bike tours now and looking over your vids for some inspiration!
I liked your trip. I also liked the way that you narrated the various highlights. And I especially liked that you did not wear weird bike clothes while doing it!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I like wearing normal clothes when going into a grocery store or restaurant. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!!😎
Hello Paul. I just finished watching your Wisconsin adventure and had to write. I particularly enjoyed your "back to school" commentary. I was also a science teacher for 30 years. I remember well sitting on the front porch the week after Labor Day watching the yellow buses go by and listening to the cheers of parents, the groans of teachers and the giggle of kids while sipping coffee and smiling in the great delight of being retired! I did work for county government for another nine years before pedaling coast to coast. Only this time I retired in the middle of the week so that I could wake up the next day, a Thursday, knowing immediately that I was done! done! done! Thank you for your videos. They are always a treat to watch. And HAPPY RETIREMENT!! Bob MacCord (Paroled from the classroom, 2005)
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. It feels so good to be retired. I loved being a teacher, but now I'm glad I'm not. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I loved being a teacher, but now I'm really digging not being a teacher. Hope to see you down the trail. Stay safe and ride on!
Thank you Paul! I just did my first Bikepacking trip using input from your videos. I’ve overnight at hotels but this was the first time with tents and such. It was an amazing adventure. Thank you.
Sounds awesome! I'm glad I could provide some inspiration. That's what it's all about. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Sorry about the slow response. I'm enjoying retirement so far. It's great not going to work everyday. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!!
Thanks. I really appreciate it. I hear from some of them in the "comments" section once in a while. I'm also their biggest fan. Hope to see you down the trail. Stay safe and ride on! (Sorry for the slow response).
Happy retirement! I retired in August of this year and my backyard is the Interurban Trail you rode on into Port Washington. I was in town that day out riding in town and on the bike trail. Sorry I missed you.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Lake Michigan is awesome. Lots of cool trails. Wished we would have bumped into each other. Stay safe and ride on!
I always enjoy your videos, Paul. Thank you for always posting these videos. My wife and I just did the Door County loop ourselves during the Fall. It was spectacular!
Heya Paul, welcome to 'The Hell With The Bell' club! When I retired from teaching elementary school, September became my favourite bike touring month here in Southern Ontario! Great temperatures, no bugs, no crowds and most of the campgrounds are still open. Yes,you have to hustle due to dwindling light, but being retired, you don't have to cram as much. You're starting to sound a bit like a Canadian eh? Guess I have to add Wisconsin to the bucket list now due to your breathtaking videos! Thank you for doing the vanguard so I know what to expect! Beautiful indeed! Always thrilled to see a new video out from you! I learn so much! I'm off to ride my bike now.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I like the 'club' idea. I love bike touring the Great Lakes. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us Paul, we all enjoy them so much. Question: Were you a teacher before you retired? If you were, then I can only imagine how much the kids loved your character. Stay safe, see you on the next one.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Yes, I taught HS Biology for 34 years. I'm retired now though. FREEDOM!! Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!!
Paul, First of all, congratulations on your retirement! I have no doubt the kids will miss you, as I am sure you were are great teacher, but happy your are on to the next exciting chapter in life. Your videos are so well done and inspiring to me and so many. This one is particularly well done. As others have mentioned, your Drone footage in just amazing. I am 62 and planning to ride from Lands End to John O' Groats in the U.K . next June. Every time I begin to doubt if I can really do it, another one of your videos pops up. THANK YOU so much for the INSPIRATION! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. I like my drone, it's a super fun toy! I hope to bike tour in th UK some day soon. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
Thanks for sharing this video. I've only been to Wisconsin a couple of times, but not to ride unfortunately. I enjoyed both visits. The parts I visited were beautiful and most of the people pleasant. Keep the content coming.
Great video. I live in a town you passed through. Very impressive editing as well. The drone and the travel shots are especially well done. Makes me want to hit the road again. I did an 8 day WI bike tour years ago and this gives me "the jones" to do it again.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Looking at the Gandy Dancer. St Crouix Falls to Danbury. Hope to see you down the trail. Stay safe and ride on! (Sorry for the slow response).
Congratulations on an other great tour video. And especially congrats on your retirement, I can confirm from experience that six Saturdays and a Sunday is definitely the way to go ;-)
One thing I really enjoy about your videos is the fact that id never have thought of riding most of these places. They all look amazing and I can always imagine the adventure to be had. This was your best work to date imo because you took a day to look around. That's why I love ebikes. I can do 50 miles before lunch swap batteries and explore while the 1st battery is charging for the next day. Keep riding , don't let retirement get you...🍊🤙
I love your positive attitude mixed with a little humor. Great to see you pedaling around my neck of the woods. "$10 helmet for a $10 head", I'm going to use that line. See you down the road!!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it! Feel free, I probably stole that line from someone. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. The last 3 years was tough for me. Anticipation! Love those spring and fall trips. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
My Dad was from W. Don't know where. Never realized how tree filled it was... Great seeing you out and "aboot". I see you were on the Surly. Good lookin'.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Sounds (looks) like you can still speak Wisconsin. "How aboot it, eh?" LOL!! I do like the new Surly. Fat tires and Disc Brakes. Stay safe and ride on!
Great video, Paul! I did a circumnavigation of Lake Michigan two summers ago, starting from Milwaukee, so the first part of your ride (including Washington Island) brought back a lot of memories! I'm also a public school employee with maybe another year or two before retirement, so kudos on yours and I can't wait for mine! Cheers, and keep the videos coming!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I love the Great Lakes. They are a national treasure. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Loved watching this! Originally from Sheboygan, so it’s nice to see some familiar views. Wisconsin is a biking paradise with the extensive trail system. Great video!
I've got 4 more years and then I'm gone. Can't wait to be in your shoes Paul. Congrats on earning your retirement and I'm looking forward to your future videos. :-)
Beautiful video. You might have passed me on your first day! I was riding a century on the Interurban Bicycle Trail in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties, north of the Oak Creek Trail. My dogs and I had a rough time with the heat, too.
Hope you have a good bicycle seat. Surly looks nice. Gotta like it. Miss seeing those Miata. My wheels on my Cannondale adventure touring bike has the 27" wheels with compressed bearings. Ceramic Enduro
Excellent video Paul! Congratulations on your retirement!! BTW - You started this tour on a trail (Oak Leaf) that I ride almost every day. I retired earlier this year as well, so I hope to be hitting the tour circuit in spring.
I gotta say I love your videos, your dry humor kills me!! So, in May, I was in Madison, WI. I love the trails out there, however, it annoys me that they charge you to bike the trails, but pedestrians don't have to pay! Everyone should pay, IMHO. Next year, when I RETIRE, I will purchase a pass and then ride to my hearts content!! Keep pedaling, my friend...
Beautiful area Paul! After staying in Chicago for a few days this summer, Milwaukee (and Wisconsin) are high on the list for a revisit. Those new red bags look great and are highly visible! I like the new $10 helmet too! Lol Happy Retirement my friend! Alex 🇺🇸🍻🇨🇦 P.S. I had no clue the Niagara Escarpment extended that far! I really enjoy doing the Niagara Loop (150km) here in Ontario. Thanks for the great geological lesson Mr. Suchecki!
Paul- Great job as usual on your Wisconsin video. Also, Congratulations on your new found retirement. The opportunities for bike touring have increased immensely. I just did a version of this bike ride myself this last summer. I followed your ride, and went all the way up to Washington island as well. I wanted to camp out there. Then went to Green Bay, and headed to towards Stevens Point. You just missed one of the nicest trails in WI. The Green Circle Trail. Next time my friend. I headed north on my trip to Duluth, MN then headed south down the Minnesota side of the Mississippi. I had wanted to ride all the iconic bike trails in WI. Next time check out the Heart of Vilas Trails up in the Minocqua area. Fantastic. Thanks for sharing your ride with us. That Anahpe Trail from Sturgeon Bay to Kewaune is one of my favorites. Keep on pedaling!!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Sounds like a great ride. You are right, I missed the Green Circle. Maybe next time. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thank you for sharing. Great Video!!! How did you travel with your bike on Amtrak and where did you keep the bike? All the best to you and your family and safe biking.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. On some routes, Amtrak has "roll on" service for bicycles. Just roll it on and roll it off. It costs a little extra and you need reservations. Not all routes have "roll on". In which case you can box up your bike and check it as baggage. Thanks again. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
I went to school in Madison and I visit Door County every summer. Door County is a great place to ride bikes because of all the roads with little traffic and some nice shoulders. I always get to Wilson’s for ice cream and sometimes for a burger. It’s been there over 100 years. I really like riding trails in Peninsula State Park. I retired this year too. I live near Seattle and we have a lot of nice trails, but I’m looking forward to riding in a lot more places in 2024
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I love Door County, Wisc. I might be riding in the Pacific NW next summer. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Yes, I do. But I can only ride one bike at a time. I really like the fat tires and disc brakes on the Surly. But the Miyata rides so smooth. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
My sister-in-law retired a few years ago as a teacher. They have a tradition of the retired teachers getting together the first day of school to go day drinking.
From one recently retired teacher and current rider to another - CONGRATS!
Enjoy the next chapter. 👏
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!😎
I searched for bike rides in green bay and yours rose to the top. I was hooked! Can’t wait for your next adventure.

Loved watching this! Originally from Sheboygan, so it’s nice to see some familiar views. Wisconsin is a biking paradise with the extensive trail system. Great video!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. I love Wisconsin. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Congrats on your retirement Paul. 👍
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Stay safe and ride on!😎
I've got 4 more years and then I'm gone. Can't wait to be in your shoes Paul. Congrats on earning your retirement and I'm looking forward to your future videos. :-)
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Like your hand drawn maps.
They're a little crude, but they get the job done. Thanks again!
Beautiful video. You might have passed me on your first day! I was riding a century on the Interurban Bicycle Trail in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties, north of the Oak Creek Trail. My dogs and I had a rough time with the heat, too.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. It's a great trail system up there. Stay safe and ride on!
Enjoy following along on your adventures. Here is to many more rides during retirement.
Hope you have a good bicycle seat.
Surly looks nice. Gotta like it.
Miss seeing those Miata. My wheels on my Cannondale adventure touring bike has the 27" wheels with compressed bearings. Ceramic Enduro
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. My seat is a Terry Liberator. I really like it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Excellent video Paul! Congratulations on your retirement!! BTW - You started this tour on a trail (Oak Leaf) that I ride almost every day. I retired earlier this year as well, so I hope to be hitting the tour circuit in spring.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Wisconsin has some great trails. Stay safe and ride on!
Suchecki!
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!😎
The East Coast of Wisconsin 😂. I like that term 👍
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. It makes sense to me. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!😎
Paul- Great job as usual on your Wisconsin video.
Well. Hopefully will get to do such a wonderful ride. Had knee surgery a year ago and still not riding.
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Hope you can get out on your bike soon. Stay safe and ride on!
Enjoy your retirement 🎉 Look forward to lots of touring videos now 😀
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!😎
Thank you for sharing.
Stay safe and ride on!
thanks
Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. Stay safe and ride on!
Congrats on the retirement. Enjoy. Great video and informative. Do you still have your Miyata 1000?
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Yes, I do. But I can only ride one bike at a time. I really like the fat tires and disc brakes on the Surly. But the Miyata rides so smooth. Hope to see you down the road. Stay safe and ride on!
Congratulations on your retirement!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Stay safe and ride on!
My sister-in-law retired a few years ago as a teacher. They have a tradition of the retired teachers getting together the first day of school to go day drinking.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Sounds like fun. Stay safe and ride on!
