First thing, you’ve been a big help to me and have explained things in a rational manor, so a big thank you! I did a saltwater transition myself almost identical to your setup,I have a couple of questions, once we add correct amount of salt year one, do we add more salt year two? Assuming I get my water clean first after season. You mentioned you checked the salt level, how do you do that and what salt level must it be at?
The salt levels will drop as you drain your pool periodically. ie. Vacuuming, backwashing your sand filter, kids splashing the water out, etc… so you will need to add salt as needed. Pick up some SALT test strips to check the salt levels and read the instructions. It’ll tell you a good level to be at and then you can add a bag of salt and retest. Happy swimming!!
We are getting the "low-salt" code now and the salt level has been tested and is fine. Our water has also been murky (lots of rain for weeks where we are) and we're trying to get everything back in balance. We're almost there and the low-salt code started. Did you just keep working on the chemicals, cleaning, and letting the pump run with the error code? Thanks!!
What I did not hear was You discussing Testing and Raising Salt Levels after - Draining MOST of the Water - to clean the Pool. 1st, you have to confirm Amount of salt Remaining, then Amount needed to Raise the lever to 3000ppm(best performance) and Add that amount to the Pool. 2nd, you have to run the Pump, with the Generator OFF for at least 24hrs, brushing the pool bottom several times to stir the salt up off the bottom. After the 24hr wait, set the system to operate as normal.
Not yet, I’ve noticed some salt residue build up on the pool tools such as the brush, and the net. But no rust. It seems to me that the sun is more damaging than the salt water on the pool components.
Thank you!!!! You just saved us HUNDREDS of $$!!

So you fix the problem by additional filtering time?
Are your railings resin? Asking regarding the potential for rust. How long have you had the pool? thanks
I have high salt error and my salt is fine ??? How do I fix that
Do you run the filter pump 24/7 or on the timer and for how long?
Also you need to check the temperature a lot of the chlorinator salt cell do not work at low temperatures below say 52 degrees Fahrenheit
Good to know! Thanks for that bit of info!
What kind of pool ladder is that?
Where did you get that ladder I like it.
Got it used! Need to make a few repairs on it, but we love it.

What size pool and pump is that?
20’ pool.
Pump is for a 15,000ga pool (a little oversized)
SKU 26679-EG
is that the 16" intex? and how much sand did you put in there?
20’ Intex, we put the amount recommended per the manual.
Any rust issues?

The quality of everything has went off a cliff
Thanks for watching!
