Two of my favorites. Never owned them as a kid but I did have a pair of twin tabby kittens that I named Tomax and Xamot, they didn't come with any accessories though.☺
I only got my hands on tomax only and I was happy as a kid and I day I come across another tomax not xamot so I just pretended it was tomax and xamot these two caricature were my most favorite and also my favorite is zartan

I had the Twins two Christmases back to back in 85 and 86 respectively as a kid. Fast forward here in 2020 I recently just reacquired them. That's how much I love them.
These were the 1st fictional twins I can recall from childhood. I actually liked them because they were agile gymnasts, who'd complete each others sentences. The whole "psychic link" thing was interesting as well (even though their "shared pain" was a major weakness that could easily be exploited). I don't think I've seen it used again until Demona & MacBeth's link, from Disney's Gargoyles.
I remember getting them as a kid and not under their lower file until my moms explained it. That's when I understood why GI Joe couldn't just "take out"" Cobra. The twins fought their battles in the courtrooms and board rooms making some of the dangerous foes ever.
According to Buzz Dixon... Had Sunbow maintained the rights to GI Joe animation, Tomax and Xamot would have been the leaders of Cobra post movie. Would love for this to be explored in a future comic Series
this was one of the best Christmas gifts my mom ever gave me. The crimson twins with the quad....among many other joe related goodies including avalanche and the snowcat. Christmas '85/86 makes me feel all warm and misty. nice vid.

they've really just been all over, there was talk of crossing over with transformers but the whole last knight sequel into bumblebee thing halted that for now, and this random snake eyes spin-off is somehow a priority, but who knows. Dwayne Johnson said he was up for it at anytime and it's really just been them so he keeps comitting to other stuff, but who knows. I mean they are apparently finally making "Black Adam" so maybe he's right. They did say and still are saying they are incredibly serious about using these two for the third film though.
In the sunbow cartoon , wasn't Xamot and Tomax fourth in command of cobra behind Cobra commander , Destro, and the Baroness in season 1 and then pushed down to 5th when Dr mindbender appeared and became 4th in season 2 ? And that was before Serpentor was created.
Yes. Technically, they were still 4th. Considering none of Cobra's command staff trusted him, Major Bludd or Zartan. Mindbender was still a mad dentist and biochemistry engineer at heart, not a leader.
@@karlsmith2570 only in the ist mini series , aka the mass device as there was only 4 main characters, but no , The rulers of cobra in season 1 were Cobra commander, Destro, the Baroness and the twins, the other main characters Major Bludd , storm shadow , scrap iron and Firefly were just mercenarys that worked directly for them, they would do jobs, lead assaults etc but you never saw them mastermind any plots , there was probably some one off characters who were higher than major bludd I.e colonel Slash , the tempory Admiral Latimar who wore a cobra navel admiral uniform(the rank must have been standard in cobra to have that suit so there must have been more Admirals ) but because they are not main characters they are not thought about, the only mercenary that seemed to get in on some of the masterminding was Zartan (much to Destros chagrin) but even he had to take orders from another one off character who cobra commander tempory hired in Cold slither, that Silly director from Lights camera cobra . Hope this helps.

Pretty cool dude. I collect vintage and modern o-ring style gi joes, plus the Marvel run of the comics. I've completed the entire marvel run and have recently started on the continuation of that series with issue 155.5. I prefer the Larry Hama canon, so i didn't collect the devils due stuff, and issue 155.5 is supposed to continue the marvel era comics. It's cool that you showed a pic of the Crimson Strike Team convention set. I have the twins, Baroness and a few vipers from that set and i actually prefer the twins in red over their original "viper style" colors. Those issues you mentioned were great issues as well. There is an interesting note about that SAW Viper that killed the Joes on mistaken orders. Not sure if Larry Hama wrote it or if it was written by the Devils Due writers. But after the SAW Viper that killed Doc, ETC. was supposedly killed (he was left barely alive), his brain and parts of his body were used to create the cyborg Overkill, and eventually joined the COIL. Great video dude.
It's kinda weird seeing Tomax and Xamot wearing the outfit that their action figures wore but in all Red and also seeing The Baroness also dressed in a Red version of her outfit for her action figure

Shockwave was def a G.I.Joe. he was the leader of the anti drug team. Im not referring to the transformer shockwave. He was also one of the only six gi joes left when they rebooted the series in the late 90s/early 2000s. If you look on yojoe.com you eill find his bio. He had several figures. He was a police officer from detroit. And an opera singer. Thats all i can remember from his profile card right now. But its ok, most people would assume i was referring to the transformer shockwave.

Larry Hama has said it is Tomax who has the scar. It was a mistake to switch them. That’s why Renegades did it correctly. It is a much debated topic, but when The Godfather of Joe said it’s Tomax, I believe him.
I received these two for Christmas one year and loved them! Smart, agile and like myself, a twin. Can’t wait to see Hasbro make 6 inch versions of these guys.

The last name of the Crimson Twins was Paoli, which is Italian. It's most likely another nod to fellow-Corsican Napoleon Bonaparte. He was Italian on both sides of his family.
I owned the action figures for these guys for some reason. Interesting villains, a lot like crypto-bros of our current era. The twins had character building that made them more fleshed out bad guys, less derpy than the normal cobras. I think the cartoon sorta stalled...then got cancelled without exploring the twins properly but Haasbro wasnt returning my calls for directorial tips on plot development back when i was in 5th grade and they were ok with just selling some toys and cashing out i guess. The GI Joe cartoon was like Game of Thrones to me as a kid, though. Really got into it.

Thanks for the video. I think that the IDW original continuity made a great reboot of their characters, so far from the athletic buffoons of Sunbow cartoons.
My personal head cannon is that these two are in some way related to baron Ironblood from the action force line, and that’s were they get there wealth and resources from.

Cobra was basically a rip-off of Hydra, they copied a lot of things.

7:10 That S.A.W. Viper’s mg is actually M60 even though M249 SAW would make more sense (namewise).
Don't want to be that guy, but the "249" that SAW Viper is using is an M60. Wholly different machine gun firing a bigger and stronger round.
