It's interesting that Beach Head is described in his original dossier as calm, patient, cool and level-headed, yet in the G.I.Joe Movie his character is depicted as an angry and volatile hot-head.🤔
I agree. The figure had somewhat of a design flaw however - the crotch piece on the pelvis seemed to break off more often than with other figures. Weird.
It's a real shame that beachhead was underdeveloped in the marvel comics my guess is he's a ranger and stalker was also a ranger and Larry Hama really liked stalker so he didn't want stalker to be pushed to the side. If you want to see great stories with beachhead I recommend the sunbow animated series he is brilliant on that cartoon!
When I would play "wrestling" with my different action figures, I'd always make Beachhead and Firefly arch rivals. They were always the "opening match". lol
Finally got to learn more about Beach Head.I always thought he got the name due to him being a seige specialist or something. Now I know the real reason. He is one of my favorite Joe's next to Roadblock,Snake Eyes,& Quick Kick.😀
Thank you so much Beach Head was my favorite when I was a kid. My best friends Dad was a Ranger in Vietnam so Stalker and Beach Head were our go to Joe's
This was the episode in which I decided to subscribe, I was chilling being an outside observer. I absolutely loved Beachhead, he was one of the first Joes I willingly bought as a kid. Being a Southern man myself I can really appreciate him..side note I work in Gatlinburg TN and I think you know which Joe was from there. Great Video Bubba!
Beach Head is one of my favorite G.I.Joe action figures but I was always intimidated by Beach Head, Leatherneck, and Sgt. Slaughter in the cartoon show because of how they are all Drill Instructors but I just got my vintage 1986 loose complete Beach Head figure from Ebay in the mail yesterday and I am eventually going to get the Triple T Tank with Sgt Slaughter and a Leatherneck figure and going to have all 3 figures on the Triple T Tank to get all my G.I.Joe figures into shape LOL!
My favorites... Beach Head Alley Viper Storm Shadow Dusty Jungle Viper Serpentor Low Light Cobra Commander ... just in case you're making it checklist. 👍😉
Serpentor was a hard figure to find in my town none of my friends could find him looked in every mom and pop drugstore general store department store toys R us never got him
Great review of Beach Head. The part where you mentioned issue #50 was in GI Joe A Real American Hero Issue #50. It wasn't in a GI Joe Special Missions issue. It was a GI Joe Special Missions preview story, titled "The Best Defense", located at the end of GI Joe ARAH #50: The Battle of Springfield. It's weird, while it is a GI Joe Special Missions story, it's in a GI Joe ARAH issue. Both of those stories in that GI Joe ARAH #50 were great. I thought that the Special Mission preview story was far better than the story used for GI Joe Special Missions #1. I dig these reviews you're doing because you include everything.....the comics (from Marvel to IDW), the toys & the cartoon. Keep up the great work dude!!
before flint, Hondo was second in command of the Joes and it was a long running thing among my friends that he got a desk job and they brought in Flint, but its an episode where hinm and Duke dap it up
It would really suck to be beachhead. Imaging wearing a wool USMC COMMANDO sweater and a Wool Balaclava to the beach and the jungles of Central America
beachead was always in my US Title picture, and from time to time in my world heavyweight title picture, in my GIJW (GI JOE WRESTLING) Federation.... and i made little belts out of oaktag to put around the action figures.... who else had a gi joe wrestling league??? cuz i know of 4 people besides myself (2 are family, one is a fellow youtuber lol)...
@@JLSComics the dozen or so Joes i made myself by taking some apart and using the cool pieces to build awesome figures were usually my main champs (Favoritism?? Lol), but the cool actual figures were at least in that US or intercontinental title scene...lol
Beachhead!!!! One of my favorites, I still have my original. I just so happened to be walking throu the toy section, (10 years ago???)of a store and I saw the new improved BH. Just bought him for nostalgic reasons and haven't stopped since. I was always bummed because alot of the vehicles werent actual size, But now!?!? Elite force, 21st century! I'm a kid again.
"They're givin' us the hairy eyeball!" Favorite line from Hama-san. I snagged issue 47 of the original run for Hama to sign at a DragonCon way way back. I told him I picked that issue because it contains that line. I mentioned this naturally and how it impacted my life enough to use it my own vernacular. So he goes and personalizes the cover with Beach Head yelling out in a speech bubble "I'M GIVING YOU THE OL' HAIRY EYBALL!" I had no idea it was Beach Head's first appearance until I watched this ol' video here! I love it even more now. Hama, for those wanting to know said it was a expression he picked up in Vietnam.
His face appears at the intro of Retaliation when Duke and his Joe's team are described. It was hilarious when Flint described him the chain of command in RAH Next could be Gung-ho?
Could you do a bio on the G.I Joe figure Steel Brigade? I know he isn't a real character, but it really interesting figure where you can "create your own Joe" premise. Even give him a code name and specialization. By far, one of my favorite Joes.
@@efrempeters8237 he is amazingly underated. Many of the Joes are actually. But yah Beach head was always one of the strongest character identities to me

Balaclava = Instant Stardom in all military characters
I always loved the look of Beach-Head. His mask, tactical vest, and camou pants always made him look like a Bad Ass.
When I would play "wrestling" with my different action figures, I'd always make Beachhead and Firefly arch rivals. They were always the "opening match". lol
I love how on the tv show beachhead was always trying to reform shipwreck by hard work.

I really enjoy this series. It takes me back to a time when cartoons, comics and toy tie-ins were AWESOME! 😎🇨🇦
Beachhead: "now if I was in charge". Flint: " but you aren't beachhead". Do alpine , I love him.
Please do Stalker! Stalker is my favorite G.I.Joe!
Samuel Fawley lol you ready my mind I was about to ask him to him too I know he was original second in command before flint .
