Informative, educational and a good laugh at your ending comment about no one knowing the full extent of the aged care system because it is always changing, (we hope a change for the better) . Apologies' for not attending in person, family visiting from Melbourne.
Why is it necessary or important to join the care plan path
Hi Jim
Thanks for your program. I am in a similar situation to Adele. I worked 19 days over a period of 5 weeks. Have been to Centrelink many times to ask why i need to pay $950 to my provider. $36 per day plus a $400 fee for unkown. Case manager stopped my level 2 package. I am an aged pensioner on Level 2 HCP. I cannot get this resolved as I cannot figure how to get the gov to sort it out. It appears that centrelink personel clicked the wrong buttons saying my salary was $1 million 200 thousand rather than $1200.
My Age Care tells me they will ring me when they have a date for me to have an assessment but they never ring back. I am on the lowest package, am also very ill with auto immune disability what can I do? Diane
Jim, really appreciate your deep and so practical analysis on government home care packages and the huge challenges of understanding and selecting a provider. You are so obviously genuinely so keen to help us understand (with no other agenda) the mind twisting information we receive. We’re so fortunate to have you.
I’m speechless. Reading your words of appreciation has made my day…thanks for taking the time to offer this ☺️. Stay well, Jim
This is the first time I have watched your video, I learned a lot now about how the Home Care Package works. Thank you.
Very valuable live chat thank you Jim but we need to remember first of all that a large percentage of applicants are old or or unable to understand the intricacies of the HCare system. I myself find it so difficult and I thought I was intelligent. I feel it is like playing a game of cards you want to know their tricks but the hand is hidden. I try to like the concept and all it can offer but you need to be so wise even in asking the right question especially when illness makes you frazzled
Thankyou for your time and effort to help us all navigate this system. Your information has explained that which l have not underdstood since 2018. I am most grateful
You are most welcome.
So informative. If I had known earlier I would be less stressed. Thanks 🙏
Sorry to hear that you've been stressing over this topic. If it's any consellation, you're not alone. It's a complex topic and there are many who are experiencing the same challenges as you when it comes to navigating it all. I'm glad to hear that this video provided a bit of clarity for you. Stay well, Jim😄
When switching does the balance money gets transferred to the new health care.?
I am happy with my provider except having some issues with weekly cleaning in the last 18 months I have had about eleven different cleaners and continuous having these issues what can I do to sort out the issues.
cannot find chat box??
How do you change from level 2 to a level 3 package
Your conversations are interesting
Great Jim you still need to find out and include what DVA gets say Domestic assistance for 1half hours per fortnight for a charge of $5 per service. Whereas other recipients will need to pay what the government dictates..Any feedback would be appreciated.
Any info on ‘fees’ work after having had the financial thing done with MyAged Care, was told I have to pay roughly $3.00 per service! Does that come out of my package money or do I physically have to pay out of pocket? Thank you.
Hi Jim
I don’t want to go to home care looks not good
Magic video about wills etc??,
❤
Why is it necessary to join the care plan path ?
Yahooo
A little overwhelming, so much to digest.
Yes, it can all be a bit of a maze. Slow and steady wins the race!
