Oh Tom, you're rocking my world with honey on blood sausage, I've got to try that!!! I usually make what's called "Hog's Pudding" (same sausage but fried with Thyme and Cumin), but then with the added depth of flavor with the honey, it's going to be a serious game changer!! 😍 Thanks for the tip and I dig the new title sequence 🤘

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag I went to town yesterday to get new reading glasses, blue sky and meak weather, this morning I will walk to the music store to get new keys for my guitar.I didn't take pictures of the river, no ice yet, only snow. I can walk a few miles a day after the shoveling is done. If I can I'll take the snow shoes and cross the river by the end of the week. 🐿

Hey Tom, great video for 2023. We call your blood sausage, black pudding, here. It is made of offal, (liver, lung, heart, kidney, brain, etc.,) All chopped up, mixed with fat, spice's and bound with blood, before being encased in intestine. We used to joke amongst ambulance crews that the blood was old leftovers from the blood banks. Your greens today was Curley Kale. Pronounced"Kayle". As an aside if you use a teaspoon or two of your alcoholic beverage, in the pan after you fry your meat, this will loosen the stick on bits and will go to make a great base for a jus. This is known as "deglazing". That mini cauldron looks interesting. I've always found cauldrons to be too big for just one person......

Hello Tom, nice to see you. In Germany we say blood sausage and kale. Black pudding content: pork blood and bits of fat, salt, pepper, mayoran, nutmeg. I want to say thank you. Thank you for sharing your lifestyle. Thank you for helping me with my grief and depression. You look almost identical to my nephew who was murdered a few years back. Watching you has brought a sense of peace to me. I imagine he if was allowed to grow into a man instead of being killed before the age 28, he would be doing what you are doing. He loved the outdoors and living simply off the land here in Alaska. He was always so happy and proud to show me everything he built. Keep up the great work and the videos. Just know that you have made a huge difference in my mental health by getting me back out and in touch with nature and helping me find inner peace. Much love from Alaska. Yeah it is really a mild winter, even we did have some cold days in December.....but sitting casual in a forrest in January in Denmark....that is so strange, but i think we have to get used to it, as it will only get warmer for years to come. Blodpølse YUM i love it......Was a butcher in my younger years (Uddannet butiksslagter) and i made those myself and also Sylte.

I remember on my Grandparents farm in Minnesota, they made a duck blood pudding, I can not remember correct spelling of it, but it also had fruit in it (pear i think it was) and other types. it was like a pudding consistency, i was only like 5 at the time but it reminded me of chocolate pudding with fruit. This would be like 1968. glad you are feeling better and have a great 2023. give a hug to the lil pupper for me.

Thank you for this beautiful video! Where I live (the Northwest of Germany) we have a very similar traditional dish called "Wurstebrot". It's a sausage made of pork, pig's blood and flower, which is then cut into pieces and fried. It is often served with fried onions and/or fried apple slices. Delicious!

WOW! You were right! My subscription was removed!! Shame on youtube for that! I do a lot of primitive trips on my local islands and hunting grounds. Your videos have always given me inspiration and great ideas for my own DIY gear projects. I'm still enjoying my raven flags made from buck-skin of a deer that I shot, butchered, fed my family and tanned myself, and the Viking tea lamps made from the the same skin as well. Keep it up! You do great things, these things deserve to be passed down to the next generation, and the one after that... and so on. SKOL!

Another great video! I haven't eaten blood sausage since childhood. There are probably not many people who eat it here in Norway anymore, maybe only the older generation. Since the last time, I've been doing blót in knee-deep snow in the forest here in Norway. I have bought some mead that I will enjoy at home tonight (drinking it from Dreki horn). Very nice pot!

Hey Tom, great video for 2023. We call your blood sausage, black pudding, here. It is made of offal, (liver, lung, heart, kidney, brain, etc.,) All chopped up, mixed with fat, spice's and bound with blood, before being encased in intestine.
We used to joke amongst ambulance crews that the blood was old leftovers from the blood banks.
Your greens today was Curley Kale. Pronounced"Kayle". As an aside if you use a teaspoon or two of your alcoholic beverage, in the pan after you fry your meat, this will loosen the stick on bits and will go to make a great base for a jus. This is known as "deglazing". That mini cauldron looks interesting. I've always found cauldrons to be too big for just one person......

I want to say thank you. Thank you for sharing your lifestyle. Thank you for helping me with my grief and depression. You look almost identical to my nephew who was murdered a few years back. Watching you has brought a sense of peace to me. I imagine he if was allowed to grow into a man instead of being killed before the age 28, he would be doing what you are doing. He loved the outdoors and living simply off the land here in Alaska. He was always so happy and proud to show me everything he built. Keep up the great work and the videos. Just know that you have made a huge difference in my mental health by getting me back out and in touch with nature and helping me find inner peace. Much love from Alaska. Yeah it is really a mild winter, even we did have some cold days in December.....but sitting casual in a forrest in January in Denmark....that is so strange, but i think we have to get used to it, as it will only get warmer for years to come. I remember on my Grandparents farm in Minnesota, they made a duck blood pudding, I can not remember correct spelling of it, but it also had fruit in it (pear i think it was) and other types. it was like a pudding consistency, i was only like 5 at the time but it reminded me of chocolate pudding with fruit. This would be like 1968. glad you are feeling better and have a great 2023. give a hug to the lil pupper for me.

Where I live (the Northwest of Germany) we have a very similar traditional dish called "Wurstebrot". It's a sausage made of pork, pig's blood and flower, which is then cut into pieces and fried. It is often served with fried onions and/or fried apple slices. Delicious!

I do a lot of primitive trips on my local islands and hunting grounds. Your videos have always given me inspiration and great ideas for my own DIY gear projects. I'm still enjoying my raven flags made from buck-skin of a deer that I shot, butchered, fed my family and tanned myself, and the Viking tea lamps made from the the same skin as well.
Keep it up! You do great things, these things deserve to be passed down to the next generation, and the one after that... and so on. SKOL!

oh - that forest ground. as a child in germany i taught myself to walk the forest earth bare-foot. here in israel the ground is different but i do where i can. thank you.

Another great video! I haven't eaten blood sausage since childhood. There are probably not many people who eat it here in Norway anymore, maybe only the older generation. Since the last time, I've been doing blót in knee-deep snow in the forest here in Norway. I have bought some mead that I will enjoy at home tonight (drinking it from Dreki horn). Very nice pot!
