Great to finally see a Laurel review! Not entirely sure if it’s the first on your channel but the first I’ve seen. Two months ago I purchased a clean 1990 with the RB20DET which only had over 62,000km. The only mods are a manual swap, coil overs and wheels. Such a pleasant daily driver that gets noticed more than I assumed it would.
Yoo this is hella nostalgic lol... my grandpa had one of these back when i was a kid.. too bad he scrapped it bcuz he barley used it and maintaining a car in japan is very expensive
Always loved these C33 Laurels. Wanted one since I was a kid in Trinidad. If you had one back in the day you were the man. My dad was looking into buying one but unfortunately didnt get it. It was about $75k back then. This is a great alternative to an R32. Also a great alternative is the A31 Cefiro
Getting one of these with an rb20 pulled from a skyline in the next few months. Always loved watching your videos, whenever I import my own car I'll be definitely going through you guys, I appreciate you go over stuff
Hi Derek, Thank you for producing such a great content. You are showing us a genuine car enthusiast inside look, so big shout out to you and to the others, that are involved in production, or just to all of you guys from PCJDM. I don't have my driving licence yet, but you guys are the ones, I would like to get my first car from... well, as soon as I'll be able to afford a decent one :D To the video: Good point about the car shape, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that miss this angular shapes and narrow pillars in today's car design, but on the other hand, safety first right? BTW, I knew its purpose, but wasn't quite sure about the process, so thank you for explaining how distributor works :)
Man what a perfect car for a DE-T swap. More power for daily driving. These sometimes appear in the wild as drift cars over here. I think the world would be ok with this one just being a clean daily
Toyota must have taken notes on this when they were designing the Windom/Es300. It looks so similar, the frameless door windows, center console, green ignition lighting, the square-ish shape. Unfortunately they just used the Camry chassis, but great affordable executive luxury sedan nonetheless. Nissan used to be ahead of the game with these sedans.
I'm very curious about how rare a 82 corolla is and how much it would be US to purchase and import getting a nice amount of savings in the bank account and that is my dream car
Well, I found a 1991 Nissan Laurel commercial on TH-cam ... classical music and freaky big blue roses ... no "since 1968" in English though ... search "1991 Nissan Laurel (C33) Commercial" on TH-cam.
this must be the only car in the world that appeals equally to grandpas and drifters
I actually like the Laurel over the Skyline, you don't see them as much
Welcome to Trinidad where all drifters start off
@@wayneramkissoon6420 tell them lol
Laurel, Since 1968, that’s going to be in my mind forever
Too bad it's no more. I have the C35 and it still says that on there.
What a clean car! Grats to whoever purchased this beauty!

Its the rb20e, not de, but what a nice example, perfect and so much features at the time....
Those 7-spoke alloys are some of my favorite OEM wheels from the era. I especially like them on the Skyline GTS25.
5:10 accurate representation of todays car designs

ivorton23 that's like a Trinidad version of an R32........ Not much 32's in Trini either
Yup it is...its like a R32 GTS-T 4 door...never saw a GTS-T in Trinidad...only GTRs
I have seen a couple recently in the drag events, but parked in the car park tho. Nonetheless, quite cool to see them 32's in the wild
Kool...I want to get one in the states here...trying to decide if to get a c33 or R32 4 door...kinda leaning towards the c33
If it was my choice, I'd take the C33. So much Skylines there now you'd be different with the Laurel
Since 1968
Laurel
They should have started the next year..........
I had exactly such a car in the same color in 2009-2012. The car has a soul and charisma, I still remember.
Getting one of these with an rb20 pulled from a skyline in the next few months. Always loved watching your videos, whenever I import my own car I'll be definitely going through you guys, I appreciate you go over stuff
Very cool car, classic JDM. Love it.
Classic 240SX 7-spoke wheels! What a sweet car!
I've always had a thing for these
This is a clean one I hope to import one in the future with body kit I need a A/T transmission
My 1996 Primera still uses a distributor. It went on until 2002 with the P12 launch.
R33Racer Cool, is it 1.6?
Twincam 2.0 SR20DE. SE model.
R33Racer mhmm, thought that 2.0 didn't have them. Still looking forward to getting one (maybe a GT if I am lucky) this year after I get my license
Twincam If you're from the UK, good luck. Most has rotted away now.
Yea my 2004 D22 still has a distributor
Such a clean Laurel, amazing

I see a very nice Mercedes 190E in the background. I'm really hoping that that'll go on the channel some day.
It looks like a 190E 2.3-16V /190E 2.5-16V. Lovely!
Man what a perfect car for a DE-T swap. More power for daily driving. These sometimes appear in the wild as drift cars over here. I think the world would be ok with this one just being a clean daily
not with that engine! thats rb20e junk
Great family car:)
6:44 DONT SCREAM OUTTA NOWHERE I GOT SCARED D:
CivicMaster500
That scared me too😂
In pretty good shape! Pity it’s not a turbo setup. This has S13 suspension. Also has all cefiro interior. Seats are based on skyline sports type seat.
That car looks dope man!
Everything is original wow 😍
Beautiful
I’d love to see you, Derik: To review a Nissan Pulsar. Not sure if they’re rare or not. All I know about is how bad ass they are.
Wolfie Poo a gtir
Haha I've had a pulsar, common as over here in NZ
If your audience are mainly millennials, (?) Your explanation of the distributor was well said.
I really hope these don't sky rocket in price this is my dream car and hope to own one, one day.
My 1995 Toyota Tacoma has a distributor. I don't mind it. I hear they're more reliable in certain cases than coil packs.
The faults of these laurels are the Ac vents drops out a lot but all an all it’s a great car Nissan
I don't think you'd have to cut it... doesn't the upper seat belt just unhook?
Very nice looking!

The worst part is they didnt want to bring the Chaser over here
The zenki models had the suicide seat belts in them. I would kill for a x81 that clean.
That's so clean
Omg you scared me so much that I jumped in my chair LOL
"Nissan Laurel HC32 hartop": th-cam.com/play/PL9yiHFaYO19vAXi8G_npxy0FJYJiuVZdB.html
5:24 I see the Mercedes Benz
Hope you soon make a video on a nissan cefiro a31
I’ve never heard of it till my neighbor made a project car out of it lol
You don't cut the seatbelt mount off, you can separate them and fold the upper Mount away once you do that. Nissan has you covered.
How do you separate them?
It's another seat belt buckle plugged into to the top pivot point.
Damn apparently that feature is only available on certain models
I'm very curious about how rare a 82 corolla is and how much it would be US to purchase and import getting a nice amount of savings in the bank account and that is my dream car
It's not an RB20DE since 1968...... Thats a RB20E
slight correction that is a RB20E SOHC not the RB20DE
RB20DE will have the camshaft cover and the camshaft angle sensor
Lin Chester it’s a rb20e
These vs. The various turbo x-chassis? Argue it out
Thanks
Nice car :)
I can't wait to see a Nissan Leopard or a Libre Villa (I think that how it's spelled).
I very much look forward to our first Leopard. I don't know what a Libre Villa is though.

Power in snow?
Nice car
Thats an RB20e by the way. Not a DE
I reckon Subaru should make some luxury brand cars under the name "Hardy".
Scotty Kilmer would be Proud!
Waiting for that R32
How much did this sell for?
What a sad world we live in when you have to explain what a distributor is...
not really
stevemonkey6666 really? Lol
FUCK YEAH
would love to see some p11's.
sorry Nissan Primera P11 model
How much did you pay for it?
Civics had distributors till at least the end of the EK lol
Just a little over 11,000 miles!
jdm grandpa LOL
Hope it won't be turned into a drift car.........it's beautiful the way it is.

前期の方が好き

I hope the owner doesn’t VIP this, but I’m not holding my breath.

thats a RB30
Did these old buckets come with airbags and other modern safety features? That's why they are cheap as chips.
Sorry had to add my 10 pence
james din No, but neither did most cars in the world at that time.
Chutiye
Can you get me a land cruiser 70
