Welcome to Care Of Kolkata TH-cam channel. Today we will cover the garden house of famous painter Abanindranath Tagore. It is located at Konnagar, Hoogly district. It is associated with the Jorasanko Tagore family. It was constructed in 1870 by the cousin of Great Poet Rabindranath Tagore, Gunendranath Tagore. Abanindranath Tagore was the son of Gunendranath Tagore . In his memoirs Gharoa & Apan Katha, Abanindranath describes this garden house.
After Father Gunendranath’s death, Tagore family abandoned this house and later sold it. Although this house still survives by the help of Government.
