I'm a 1-mil mastery plat Pyke player, and I prefer a bruiser/battledancer version of tank Pyke that I'd love for you to try. I go Edge of Night, Death's Dance, Spirit Visage, and Guardian Angel. It's maybe only about 80% as effective at not dying on an engage as full tank, but you still get to deal a bit of damage, and you heal back to full once you disengage, so you can go back in a second or third time in a fight. Runes: Aftershock - Fairly self-explanatory, we're trying to live forever. Font of Life - All the options in this slot are kinda bad. This one sometimes keeps idiot ADCs alive a little longer. Conditioning - You could go any of these. I go for conditioning because we're building resists and don't want to fall off lategame. Revitalize - We don't have any shields, but this makes our grey health more effective. Sudden Impact - This build doesn't build a ton of lethality, but it's still a great stat. Ultimate Hunter - More ults is more gooder. AD/AD/Tenacity - We're not trying to avoid getting hit as much as shrugging it off when we do, so tenacity is good. Items: Celestial Opposition - It's the tank option, we want to survive engaging on the entire enemy team. Mercury's Treads - This helps us get out when we go in. Can be swapped for armor boots into ad-heavy or cc-light. Edge of Night - Spell shield lets us body-block for our carries, and makes it hard for the enemy to lock us down. Death's Dance - Our grey health healing often can match DD's burn, so this basically just increases our max health by 30%. Spirit Visage - Heal power is super strong on Pyke since we heal so much with our grey health. Guardian Angel - Living to fight another day is the point of the build, and Pyke is better than most at skating out of danger after reviving.
I was thinking about how strong it could be, if you built both & you just layed out exactly this. Would love to see i0ki try it out (& probably adjust the Build accordingly for the specific Game he's in)

I sometimes switch mercs for steelcaps, and I sometimes build items in a different order, but I only swap out an item if the opposing team is full-ad or full-ap. Pyke doesn't get to build health as a generic tank stat, so if there's even a single source of one of the damage types, you can't afford to forgo its resistance completely.

Mmhm, if theres only ono ap thats behind or doesnt pose a treat to any of ur engages bc hes gonna get nuked by your teammates, just dont build sprit visage, do u need the hp regen?? You gotta find their win condition, sometimes its their mid but most of the time its an AD user
My recommendation for this might be to just build celestrial opposition for tank, and go damage the rest of the way. Would still do massive damage, but be way more forgiving.
OK bro. My secret tech. Unsealed spellbook blitz. Start smite. Wait until buffs spawn, walk behind the wall by the camp, ward the bush so they don't see, hook their camp over the wall, and smite to steal. Go back to lane and pressure super hard with buff, level advantage, and revolving summs. Keep vision in enemy jg and go back to steal camps with hook smite whenever you can. Takes a little practice to get the timings but it's a super fun way to get your jg ahead and pressure the heck out of bot. I started playing this before unsealed and would just run smite all game. You get good at smiting minions for the sp item execute and hooking instantly when they think they are safe behind minions.
I think it works better with glacial augment and add a hydra, you have enough DMG to actually kill, also you basically full heal in combo and this build allows more cc allowing more glacial augment procs.
Im researching a new jhin support build, I'm thinking we should dump into CDR runes, grab experimental hexplate, and get his ult to the lowest possible CDR
A lot of people view support as a sort of crutch for adc bur really they're meant to to boost the overall power of your whole team, not just babysit the adc
I play tank Pyke on aram, it's so fun to NOT DIE to literally ANYTHING xD Btw, fimbulwinter works, it gives you a pretty handy shield once in a while, since Pyke can cc with 2 of his abilities
Not related to this gameplay - Have you tried building Amp Tome or Long Sword on a support whose first items build off of it as a replacement to Dorans start? (ex would be zyra usually rushes rylais or liandrys) So like buy the tome level one, fight then go back and get atlas first back then the sword/tome will build into what you want anyways. Also with the changes on atlas and champions to where it's more favoring typical enchanters/healers and less engage how would you think an off meta champ like Elise who hasn't been touched in a while would fare down there now given the resurgence of squishy targets bot?

good idea to go sword or tome now but i fear the sup item start is still stronger since sorans isnt an option anymore
