- In this new video format, I will go deep into the best shots we've ever seen in tennis. Today, let's focus on Nick Kyrgios’ serve.
The Australian has a very powerful serve with both first and second serve. It's one of his main weapons and his opponents find it very difficult to return it.
It was thanks to his serve that Kyrgios reached the Wimbledon final in 2022, his first Grand Slam final.
Nick Kyrgios, one of the most entertaining player on the ATP Tour, will play UTS Los Angeles in July! We'll see how he deals with one serve only!
In this video, I'll help you to focus on eight major aspects in the Kyrgios’ serve :
1/ The starting position
2/ The weight transfer
3/ The toss
4/ The trophy position
5/ The acceleration
6/ The contact with the ball
7/ The pronation
8/ The ending

THE COACH
Patrick - กีฬา
For those who disagree on Nick's serve. Even Djokovic says Nick has the best serve that is not an Isner or Opelka height.
disagree with what about Nick's serve??
@@chtomlinSome people say nicks serve isnt that good
Nick is 6"4 , that's tall
@thornbird6768 Medvedev, Zverev and Raonic are all big servers and are taller than Kyrgios. There is no other player below his height that has produced high stat's of aces and 1st serve win percentages. I can only think of Federer
Raonic is not much taller than Nick, but he is much stronger.Kyrgius and Sampras( and also Lloyd Harris) have best serve techniques for me . and Karlovic,Inser,Opelka most dangerous serve@@MA77SP
I honestly think nick doesn't even know he does all that... he's just natural
I don't think he thinks about it 👍🏻 but he has been doing this since he was a young boy , this is as normal for Nick as going to sleep ❤
He might not be able to dissect it all like that anymore, but he would've worked really hard on each of those things at some point!
One of your best videos, clear, easy to follow and understand. Great job!
This is such an awesome breakdown video of Nick’s serve. Thank you Patrick ❤
Overall it's pretty good, but mostly just hits the obvious low res points...
Qu'est-ce que c'est bien expliqué, un vrai régal.
Finally!!! Patrick talks about it in detail 😊
Very nice video, it turns out for someone like me who never played tennis, the serve is a science on its own.
These are such good break downs 🙏
Perfect video! Thank you!
What a analysis… very clear!!
Incredible analysis! We see the effect but usually don’t see or understand the cause. Thank you!
Nick is a natural, he’s the Ronaldinho of Tennis. Too bad he’s not consistent or serious about his tennis career otherwise he could have been one of the top ranked tennis players of the tour. Hope he’ll play soon, I really enjoy watching his games especially after I learned that he never practice as much as pro players do.
Please coach him just one season. As a fan I would just love to see a fully dedicated and focused season. He could dominate grass and hard courts. He’s always my tennis what if 😢
Fantastic video
What a deep and serious kyrgios' serve analysis! Definitely masters like Patrick see thing than the most can't.
Really? what is deep about this analysis? Very shallow basic overview for the most part... and no... it's not a flat serve...
Awesome video 👌
I love Kyrgios serve, his serve motion is art for me
And while so many armchair experts want to slag Nick off, the thing they all gloss over, is the technical perfection Nick has achieved with this beast of a serve. Truly, utterly, epic.
True.
With such s serve, i am sure it will help him to win GS 😄😄😄😄😉
I think most folks recognize he has a very special serve and tends to rely on that one skill a bit too much...
@@chtomlin his forehand is also very strong, and he has tremendous touch and feel, especially around the net.
His backhand is his relatively weaker side, but remember that he's a top 20 player, and his UTR has been as high as top 5 in the world. On grass, I'd say he's maybe #3 in the world.
@@bigrobsydney I'm not sure what your point is, but mine was that everyone in tennis recognizes this is a world class serve at the highest level... even to the point that he leans on or needs it too much... this is in answer to PM ridiculous claim that people don't realize how good Nick's serve is...with Novak's serve, Nick wouldn't be top 20.
@@chtomlin My point is that while Nicks serve is exceptional, it's not the only weapon he has. And Novak's serve is also very good these days. Not so powerful, but reliable, and hits his spots well.
I wonder if you could argue that because of his serve motion he has created additional stress on his knee.
The large separation of the feet puts alot of pressure on the front left knee.
He has been having alot of injuries lately and alot of that complaint is about his left knee.
If you don't believe me, try his serve technique , you will notice that there is alot of pressure on the left knee.
Then try to imagine that you need to multiply this by 10,000 serves.
Love ur videoss❤
Amazing analysis! thank you . I think Kyrgios also speak about his pretty low ball toss ( compared to very high toss with some players ) hitting the ball when it just comes to it's peak , to gain precision , speed and making his serve even more unreadable ...??
I have learned more watching these videos that taking group classes. Only wish I could spend a day with him!
Your chanel is amazing. Please do a video on Pete Sampras. I would like to see a breakdown on his technique. His serve and especially his forehand and backhand. 🙌
Sampras has in general the same serve principe : he just has different stance and more should rotation
If Nick asks, would you consider coach him?
he doesnt want a coach
It would be insane (in an 'awesome' way ..)
Nick would consider coaching Patrick.
He sucks up to him so much
Dont think Kyrgios gives a damn.
Kyrgios is from south side Canberra. Its gamgsta there. He cringe at Mouratoglu
i love his skill
Excellent video.
Could you please analyse the serve of Alexander Bublik. It looks very peculiar, but very effective at the same time. Thanks!
It will be great to serve like him during the match.
best sever on tour Kingkyrg
Fabulous analysis. Wish you could do an analysis of Dustin Brown’s serve too that is short, compact and highly effective.
Or Ben Shelton’s who’s also got a phenomenal serve.
"Hey honey how was work?"
"Nick Kyrgios"
Im glad that Patrick is subscribed to Top Tennis Training, Im a huge fan of them as well.
Can you analyse Sabalenka's serve and explain what causes her errors?
Can you go on the Backhand and Forehand of Dominic Thiem? I really love his style of Tennis and his bravery. That would be great. I really enjoy your videos!!!
Roddick's serve was also great!
Can you analyze it also? In my opinion it was also more interesting and beautiful to see...
Yes sir
Aussie Aussie Aussie!!
Patrick can you make video on how to handle drop shot like pro this is very great problem ❤
Before Nick won the doubles AO title, I always thought he would be a much better doubles player than singles player specifically because of his serve. His ball toss is so consistent, it's almost impossible to read where he will place his serve which is a big advantage in doubles
He didn't play during the clay court season, the statics would be different otherwise. But still great
YUGE
Wow. with the serve being the most important shot in tennis and him being the best at it, he still only won ONE tournament in 2022. the level in men's tennis is tough.
As an ex tennis coach, the key to his serve is that it starts from the exact position with only a slight change in the wrist position to direct it down the middle or out wide... impossible to pick...
Rune's coach. cool.
Best serve on tour
I think Nick will thrive in UTS. Cannot wait for that
I get tennis elbow just watching this.
I would like to ask you, since you have said that the ball bounces much higher on clay, for those who are a bit shorter like 155 cm or 160 cm, how could they deal with these high balls?
Depends, u can hit some of this balls in the rise ..
It’s the modern version of Roscoe Tanner with some Sampras and Ivanicevic thrown in. Good lesson but it does help a wee bit that most of these guys are tall.
Rosset, Karlovic had simular serve
Obviously his best weapon is the service not the only depending on the opponent he may win without the service. Super explosive player despite the height is one the fastest, skilful net game, poweful shots but no mental at all he's like Rublev mentally but way better technically.
Not even close to rublev mentally lol. Kygrios is on his own level below everyone else
Great player interesting guy. Hope he's back soon.
Looks like kyrgios is right eye dominant?
The best serve of Kyrgios is Underarm Serve! 😄🙃
Rennae Stubbs would be hating on this video
What grip does he use?
🎾
"Dont talk" :-)
what is the dominant eye of Nick Kyrgios?
I wish you could coach Nick
No lag on serve, similar to Roddick's serve.
Roddick had abbrevated serve motion- different style.
Karlovic had simular serve to Nick
Great Video. So why don't the other pros try to incorporate one or more aspects into their serves? If you want to be the best, you have to emulate the best.
becauce it is not suited for them.
So did he win the point?
When Nadals forehand. The best forehand, Fed is very close tho.
Here the thing. It's not just serve that requires a whipping effect to produce a power. Ground strokes are dependent on this too. The problem is how to develop it. It has not just to click in, you have to be able to recognize what happened. After that you are in the zone and you will never look back. That's how three Gods became unbeatable. Got lucky to experience it and remember it. Once they got a thing, a precise thing, and a feeling they will not forget it and they will continue working on it, making it more and more reliable. That's it. Luck is a big part of success:))
Next week, @IntuitiveTennis will release a video titled “The serve is not a whipping motion”.
(Go on, Nikola. You know you want to!)
Great explanation, but it would be better to see more of Kyrgios while Patrick is explaining....
damn didnt know connor roy coaches tennis now
Nick kyrios serve is good
Agree
I serve better
True statement
Is this the perfect serve?
Good analysis. 👍 . Now will you message Nick and show him this video because I'm willing to bet he has no idea " why" he does all these specific motions. He just does them because he's always done them!
6:13...ca ce n'est evidemment pas 30 degrees..je crois ils ont raté à dessiner les fleches..c'est par rapport à la verticale...ou bien...à la prolongation de la ligne de sa jambe droite en faite.
pls couch him
Why should we take the giants away from the debate of who has the best serve??!! I
2:11
HE IS MIKE TYSON ON TENNIES COURT
Tyson was a champion... Kyrgios doesn't even have a 1000ATP, not to mention GS.
nick.. he half malaysian and greece...and australian citizen..
Q: why he does not miss
A: being tall
Patrick: Who's serve is better Roddick or Kyrgios? Both aren't serve-bot giants either...
"Can’t buy a first serve." - Nick Kyrgios
isn't he about 6 foot 6 or something
His serve is the only reason. He's top 100 in the world. It's a thing of beauty.
Next Shot of The Pros: Rafael Nadal Reverse Volley😅
this was so forensic I was half expecting you to say something like his penis is perfectly aligned with the base of the court
We need him. Lots of boring players out there.
Patrick you’re the best but cut the background music. Yuck. Sounds like an elevator at a Greek resort hotel.
I know you are handsome and all.. but cutting away from nick's slow-mo very second as you are describing his serving is distracting
Now try it your self...
I can do that. Let's play 👍
One of the best servers of all time... and one of the worst dressed too 😂 and I wish he would talk way less on court
This is the kind of pointless conversation only extremely rich people would have. They just downplay it to come off as humble and down to earth. Seriously rich people are obsessed with this conversation . Even if it is sincere why keep talking like this. It’s a compensation for guilt and need for acceptance
Normally love your videos. Couldn't understand this one. Far too complicated.
Get outta here with your perfect hair
But his serve motion looks ugly.
has never been in top 10 and curntly not even top 30 :):):)
92% on 1st se4ve and yet not ever a top 10
Sorry, but no, not a flat serve and not knowing this causes much to be missed about this serve that is very important.
And yet he isn’t even a top 10 player… so best service in 2022 doesn’t get you anything.
Not impressive
A shot maker that’s won nothing. Nada. Zippo. Nothing. Paying tribute to anything regarding such a narcissistic fool who exhibits psychological issues in real time for the world to see, doesn’t deserve it.
Let’s skip all this technical bull crap. Let’s just say he got a good serve. No one cares that much
Just saw your tweet how Novak will tie serena as best tennis player of all time. Nice way to kill your credibility. Pretty sure if novak played your best player of all time she would hardly win a game
