One of the many moments that made the Marines look like goofs. All that effort to kill Ace and Whitebeard. I don't even blame them for getting outsmarted by Blackbeard. But the second he showed up with those prisoners, he should have been priority one. I mean, yeah, Whitebeard was still alive at the time, but he was always an enemy. Blackbeard was a traitor standing there with the evidence. And if everyone in the room hates one guy, you probably need to get rid of him quick.
True, after what Blackbeard did, the Marines should have gone after him first. Seeing that he had two devil fruits, they should have use everything that got to stop him. But the World Government didn't do anything about it.

It HAS to be related to the Dark-Dark fruit’s powers… we already know that it cancels out other DF users abilities when we saw Blackbeard grab and punch Ace and doesn’t allow Blackbeard to phase thru attacks like other Logia users since it absorbs hits and amplifies them. My guess is that since the Dark-Dark fruit can suck anything and anyone in he sucked out the power from Whitebeard’s body? Maybe he sucked out the “devil” from the Tremor-Tremor fruit into himself or maybe he sucked out Whitebeard’s own soul idk but more info is needed. However it seems 2 fruit powers is the max Blackbeard can absorb cuz he seemed to need a free hand to wield both powers simultaneously

my opinion about that is blackbeard yami yami no mi can absorb anything including devil fruit power from user the power of df once the owner die it will reborn right? but not right away after the owner die i'd say maybe about 1 day before it will reborn again, i mean he can even create black hole and can swallow alot of things and can even neglect df powers but i'm not sure about this since once the user consumed 2 devil fruit would inevitably die right? this is the one i still don't understand till now.
