Now this is a redemption arc. Also if a character as evil and vile as Megatron can get one any villain lesser than him can get one as well. Not to mention the fandom seems to like the idea.

You have to admit, as satisfying as it is for us readers and Megatron’s victims to hear that, I just wonder how much it hurt him to say that. He believed it or at least most of that speech, but man does it sound like it was hard for him to say it.
It definitely was apart of him knows it wasn’t all bad. Decepticonism was started as movement to finally be free of shackles of control and devastation of lower class to finally set in motions the wheel of hope through I’ll be it Decepticon and going against the system saying that must’ve hurt because to Megatron despite fact he lost his way still hurts say because he still believed in it deep dowk
@@greenightponydragon5127 I have to say though, it’s kind of concerning how it seems the era of the IDW 2005 Continuity that had the most equality amongst Cybertronians was one of conquest and expansion by force. It’s the same thing in the Aligned Continuity and the IDW 2019 Continuity. I suppose that’s because in these eras of colonialism and conquest, the Cybertronians needed a united front. They were basically going up against hundreds, if not thousands of planets. When these eras came to an end, the elites and leaders of Cybertron saw no point in this united front. Though of course 2019 is an exception since it’s pre-war era was actually a great one.
You know, it makes me wonder if these pre-war governments were installed by organics to ensure Cybertron never makes an empire again. Something similar to this happened in Beast Wars Uprising where humans and other organic species forced the Autobots and Decepticons to stop fighting and confined them into a small region of space, which eventually led to the surviving Autobots and Decepticons to become a cruel ruling class who forced all of the shorter robots into their own classes and had the lowest of these classes, the new Maximals and Predacons, fight in gladiatorial pits to simulate their own war.
And later in the MTMTE comics during a time travel adventure, a number of characters point out that in a universe without Megatron, life becomes worst on Cybertron because the Functionalists end the lineage of Primes and wipe out the Senate, but the rest of the galaxy is mostly safe, with only a few occasional wars between Cybertronians and organics.
That reminds me of the irony of Whirl and Megatron. Whirl basically turned Megatron from a robot of peace to one of conflict. After getting arrested for a bar fight he had no part in, Megatron is beaten up by Whirl until Orion lets Megatron go and arrest Whirl. Yet during the time travel adventure, Whirl actually saves Megatron from dying because he was a victim of the Functionalists. Thanks to Megatron killing Sentinel Prime, the Functionalists lost their political influence. Then Megatron got the Autobots to team up with the Decepticons and take down Zeta Prime before he committed genocide to power up a weapon to commit a larger genocide. It’s really only after that when Megatron went bad.
Speaking of good and bad, I always have to wonder how Optimus Prime changed the Autobots for the better. Not just in IDW, but in other continuities. Even in Marvel, Prime is the one always keeping his troops from blowing away humans, even when they are being attacked by humans. Making the Autobots a heroic faction to organics, despite the fact Cybertronians had little interaction or knowledge of organics along with a sense of bigotry, sure is an impressive feat for Optimus. Heck, what’s with his love of organics? Sometimes it seems unnatural given how Autobots and Decepticons at first view organic species.
@@tristankawatsuma8962 that’s because most of Autobots look up to optimus as like mentor figure. They try follow his example I think it’s his compassion and leadership that truly change autobots at least most them for the better after all not all autobots are exactly as compassionate or caring as him

Optimus cut megatron to the bone.. and neither me nor megatron can blame him.
I will be honest...after learning what the Autobots did before the war...about how they had a very corrupt government and chose to do very little about voluntarily or involuntarily makes this sting even more.
Megatron's intention was NEVER to cause a civil war it was to overthrough the old order and rebuild a new one. It was those around him who sullied that dream with there own vendettas, with their own selfish lust for power.
Never the less, it doesn't excuse what Megatron did but I think he really had no other choice...or at the very least he didn't feel like he didn't have any other choice.
Agreed. I wonder how Megatron would’ve reacted to hearing either:
‘You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.’
Or:
‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions.’
OK if we’re being technical technical auto bots didn’t exist before the war in the same sense
other races just called the entire species autobots (including members like Megatron) because of the overall system. Describing how everyone listen to the Senate rather than thinking for themselves. The fact Cybertronians we’re all victims of this even ones with better positions like Starscream heck he had a better position than anyone but still wanted to defect proving everyone that isn’t the most highest of authority was the victim of it
Optimus prime is the true first “autobot” in the comics dubbing it’s by it’s now associated meaning.
although I really agree Megatron had a point he just didn’t know how he could prove it without destroying the planet (and honestly neither did Optimus as unfortunate as that sounds)

Considering that Megatron wanted to wipe out every organic in the galaxy because they might possibly (emphasis on possibly) be a threat that was a choice he made entirely on his own, he would’ve been fine if he just took out the senate and corrupted Primes but he just wanted to keep killing and drag uninvolved people into his mess and let his people abuse their power (like Soundwave messing with Bee’s mind to do his bidding), I get he had a hard life but he needed to take responsibility for all the horrible shit he did. Remember, he has the blood of over 100 billion organics on his hands.
@@2bdaqueen268 while I agree with everything you said he is taking responsibility, granted it’s 5 million years late but taking responsibility is taking responsibility and unlike other evil people is a lot of his problems and flaws before he had no escape against them
Keep in mind, the second Megatron got put out of commission. Starscream tried to lead the Decepticons with the Matrix of Leadership.
Things were in disarray. The second he came back, he battered Starscream. Starscream was loyal to him.
And don’t forget before that he told Starscream his time would come. He didn’t try to stop the others from fixing Megatron. He was doing is best to keep every com together
I bet Megatron doesn’t know that Nosecone turned Decepticon shortly before his little speech, and he was pissed when he heard this. He, along with Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust started an offshoot group called the Decepticonians. They are a group of like minded Cybertronians who are still loyal to the original Decepticause, the only difference is that they all have some sort of association with cones. It’s not exactly a requirement, but it helps the image. Although Ramjet has prepared some little, cone shaped hats for those members devoid of cones. He said you better wear it, too, or he will shove it where the spark don’t shine.

GOD DUDE, Megaton in this series is something else, they were able to capture a side of him in writing that is unlike any other story. And again man, kudos on you for making this better with your voice acting.

I remember reading this years ago and my jaw dropped. I felt so sad. But Autobot Megatron's story is the best story ever!
He might end up worthy of the matrix one day.

Megatron was the villain we needed to show us what evil was. It broke the chains of Functionalism and that freedom was more than not being ruled by a tyrant, but being able to choose our own path in life.
All hail Megatron no more.
I wonder what would happen if this megatron and arron yeager (final season) had a discussion?
I feel like unlike Megatron who took 4 million years to realize that he had gone too far, Eren was fully aware from the start that the things he had done or were about to do are "acts of evil". The attack on Marley that wiped out countless civillians, manipulating his own father to murder the Reiss family as well as to let child Eren devour the attack and founding titan, and of course, the Rumbling.
He acknowledges it to Historia during what seemed like their final conversation before he left for Marley that yes, people like his mother---people who were innocent, people who didnt deserve to die, people who didnt play a part in the eldian discrimination, etc. were going to suffer horrible deaths along with his enemies. He even forgave Reiner because in a way, they were the same, they did what they had to do to "save" their home, not because it was right, but because they believed it was the only path "necessary".
This was epic. ❤️ Love MTMTE Megs and your voice acting!

You KNOW he didn’t believe the part about cybertronians not being better than other species. At least not yet
What kills this, for me, is that the knights weren’t much better than deception Megatron. I hate what they did with Star saber. His first American release outside of laughable dubbing, and that’s how he was presented.
Ah yes, the moment Megatron began to suck.
