I signed up with Medpro in 2018 and at that time, I did not know how to start my journey. All I know was that I need to start somewhere. Its 2023 now and I just hit my 1st year in the USA officially. Knowing what I know now, I can confidently advice anyone NOT TO PUT YOUR FUTURE IN MEDPRO. People have different opinions and experience but in my personal experience and opinion, MEDPRO IS THE WORST. I pray that you will find an agency who will not traumatize you but actually “TRAUMATIZED” is just the to of the iceberg if I can describe my experience with MEDPRO.
MedPro is a secretly toxic agency. They will deceive, manipulate and gaslight you. I know a lot of agencies are now looking at migrant nurses to fill in the demand for nurses here in the US. If you have to go with an staffing agency, which is actually not the best route to begin with, just beware of Medpro and avoid them at all cost. Let me tell you from experience. Medpro only looks out for themselves. If you are an explorer who’s not comfortable working at your facility, unless its for a life or death situation, or probably even if it is the case, guess what, they will never transfer you. They will hear your side and get all the information regarding your complaint but in the end, they will talk behind your back with the facility. They call this “investigation”. The facility obviously doesn’t want you to leave, so they will deny all your allegations and complaints. That’s a rational move on their part because of the burdens of replacing an employee. And what does MedPro tell their explorers: “it happens in all hospitals, everywhere you go, you will experience the same treatment, you will have the same problems with coworkers or management, it’s useless to transfer you, you cannot leave, if you leave or don’t finish the contract, it won’t end up well for you.” I fell into depression and I wasn’t able to thrive in my facility because no matter what I do, I was perceived as very petty even if other contract nurses have also left the facility for the same reasons I was complaining about. It is a part of my “branding” at this point. I did not feel psychologically safe working there but all I can do is take the abuses as normal part of life. This is nothing for MedPro. For them, we are here to work and not for holiday. Work is supposed to be messy and this is America and immigrants need to have that harsh awakening. Medpro will never err on your side. They only have their best interest in mind. The sad part is you would have to endure this for 3 years, your mental health will suffer and it could even cost you your nursing career and american dream. Medpro knows very well that migrant nurses do not have a lot of choices. They will exploit every single weakness and lack of choice that we have to their advantage. You can never trust Medpro. They are not pro explorers. Right from the start, I saw the red flags at my facility but it was a mistake to trust MedPro as my confidant. It was a mistake to trust Medpro for my American dream. Trust is very crucial and I worry that this lack of trust will follow me even after I escape this toxic environment that I am in right now. Avoid MedPro guys. They will be a plague in your life.
