- So, I thought bears were what I had to watch out for! Turns out these hiker boys are a rare breed!

Just a heads up for the boys - girls out hiking alone are there because they like hiking alone, most likely because they like their own company and doing their own thing every now and then - not there looking for late night 'companionship' up on a mountain in the middle of nowhere! Incredibly straight forward, and incredibly pathetic. Guys, if you are interested in a female make sure she is safe and comfortable. Develop a friendship, show her you care for her through actions and words. If she is into you, you'll know- if she's not, you'll also know. To persistently engage in unsolicited sexual conversation in the backcountry is completely unacceptable. End of story. Guys, act better! Women, if they are bold enough to ask something so bold unsolicited, them be bold right back--if you get creepy vibes after that then get the f outta there or tell someone you trust about the situation.
This type of scenario boils my blood. I have zero patience or tolerance for that type of behavior.

Definitely not the same as a bear mauling but a bit threatening as a girl alone in my tent. People have responded very strongly to this video in all the ways! In hiker boy's defense, in my defense. It all ended well, now it's only an entertaining story. Not trying to offend ;)
Have done solo hiking for years but not really solo if you include the dog. I had two incidences that were most undesirable wilderness camping. Both time my Akita dealt with it. I highly recommend hiking with a nice big dog, a rescue who would love to go hiking, and you most likely will not have too much to worry about. Be safe out there. Carry pepper spray and have it at the ready, the bottom of your pack. Take a RAD course. Your life is worth it. Don't listen to the naysayers. We have not only a right but an obligation to keep ourselves safe.

And here I thought you were hiking alone, on the trail, and this guy followed you, hid in the bushes and as you were going to sleep, came up and "knocked" on your tent.....only to learn that you were not actually camping but living in a tent and flaunting yourself at lonely travelers as they passed by day after horny day!!!! (haha) You are such a perv! (smile for me)
Absolutely no reason to be smelly or unshaven if you don't want to be. Adventure cleanliness is like adventuring itself. Just takes practice. Also would like to defend my team and say I've suffered some way too forward backpacking females, so instead of saying it's male nature (to anyone saying it) just say it's human or even nature nature.
😂 the last thing I'm trying to do is meet a girl while I'm on a hiking trip. I smell pretty nasty after a few days playing in the woods. Combine that with what a girl running around the woods for a few days smells like. mix it together and it would smell like a whole lot of NOT SEXY in the tent. I'm good.

I dunno what you people do but I bring bio-degradeable wipes, deodorant, baby powder, and tooth brushing supplies. I don't smell GREAT, but i'm not nasty either.

Here is a secret about us hiker boys. We don't care about a little fur or the smell.

Have you watched any of the thru hiker videos? They call themselves "hiker trash" both male and female! Bow if you haven'yt you really should have beforehand! Not only is the ratio skewed to be a sausage party but if you saw the videos than you know that you are the most exceptional looking lady that any of these guys will see in real life much less on the PCT or AT! Your best defense is keeping a bunch of pot on hand, edibles especially so with the body high that puts you down for the count! I don't think you could dress down enough to compensate for your beauty! I'm pretty sure that you could actually turn it in your favor! Wield it as a weapon and play them against each other! No slip ups tho you can only play that hand all the way! It only works once! Good luck and Happy Trails to you...

nice video thanks friend i made the mistake of taking to card playing friends who turned to pot heads on the trail and came into the tent in the middle of the night crunching noodles and gittting real quit when i said who's there so i ended up wasting 3 cans of bear spray on two ass holes after 5 nights sleep rounded i turned back to dalton Ga. some people go nuts up there on the trail

Too many jump cuts...anyway I dont' think having to tell people no qualifies as something to "worry about" in the same way being mauled and killed is. If someone is an actual rapist, that is something to worry about. I mean he just asked, words, words don't cause physical harm. Why is our culture so socially backwards that a basic social interaction like a request and a denial of that request, is considered a big deal?

Next trip ill bring a girl with me maybe i wont get jumped on by a 13 year old girl on blood mount-ion near the cliff and scare me half to death yelling i love you dandy i did not know her from add-ems house cat i was walking away from the cliff and she came out know were jumping spreed out like a star fish and rapped around arms and legs then her mother came out of the cabin wanting to throw me in jail im scared half to death then her grand a German was standing on a rock above watching the hole deal play out the police showed up and on my hike down the police got a interpreter to ask her what happened i was then cleared of any wrong doing before i ever reached kneels gap hostel
we have black bears here in Alaska...they are worse than brown bears..brown bears dont wanna mess with you usually.(cuss real loud. they can feel the vibes from swear words..loud cussing like you have turrets..let em know whos boss). they want to fish. black bears are curious and get accustom to human easily which makes them more dangerous.(p.s. dont ever talk to a black bear like ace ventura does at the beginning of the movie with that dog, i made that mistake once in Whittier,AK and the bear thought i was his buddy)

Yikes! Thats unfortunate. Why would anyone really want to get down like that out on the trail anyway? Everyone is filthy.. just not appealing =( Also the stalking is a tad creepy but its not uncommon among bros. I try to explain to any of my hetero male buddies that have ever been guilty of this to just imagine themselves in the girl's situation except you are surrounded by a bunch of overly eager and slightly aggressive gay men, each of which outweigh you by about 70lbs, and dont seem to take "no" for an answer. It would be a little unnerving.
