    OMG!! Finally a newer portland vlog/move video. It's so difficult to find positive inspo about portland and this is so refreshing. I'm moving this June and visiting end of March. Sometimes, while doing my research, I kinda get swayed and nervous because I don't know anyone there & everyone talks about all the bad things (that's pretty much going on everywhere) about portland. Anyways, I rambled on. I loved the video though, thank you so much.

      Yay!! I’m so happy you liked it! I live in the Pearl and I absolutely love it, people have been so friendly too so I wouldn’t be worried about not knowing anyone. Excited for you :)

      I have lived in Phoenix and Atlanta and can confidently say that Portland is by far the most disgusting and dangerous place I’ve ever been. It’s probably too late, but don’t move for gods sake. I’m leaving next year after being here for ten years. It’s a mess.

    Nice use of only 500 square feet with upgraded appliances and nice floors. Not much storage. I like the furnishings and she is smart to take measurements to be sure furnishings fit. I lived in Portland for 45 years. It's smart to get large windows and lots of natural light as it is gray and overcast a good portion of the time.

    I've been wanting to move back to Portland for a while now and I think I'm finally gonna do it soon. It's such a cool city and your place is so cute! I'm the same as you that I'm okay with a small space as long as there are big windows. Question: did you have a hard time applying and finding a place there? Where I'm at, the market is really bad for renting so you'd have to apply within hours and even with great income and credit, it took 12 applications to finally find a place.

    • @RileeJefferson
      @RileeJefferson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There are a lot of apartments available in Portland right now and applying was really easy. The building I am currently at is only at 70% capacity. It shouldn’t be that hard to find a place!

    Paying almost 2000 dollars a month for a 500 square feet studio, in the highest taxed city in the US, where jobs are hard to come by, and crime is at an all time high. great!

    • @RileeJefferson
      @RileeJefferson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi! So I am in the heart of the Pearl and it is about a 6 minute drive/30 minute walk to PSU. Traffic isn’t horrible in PDX if you live downtown somewhere, you can live SW or NW and it’ll be pretty much the same. I just prefer NW for the restaurants and coffee shops! Hope that helps!

      Contributing to the overpriced rental market in an already insane rental market, because...portland is weird? There is a reason so many people are homeless in the Pearl. Glad it doesnt bother her much, though. Let them eat cake?
