I cannot believe the sheer nasty venom that some people put on here. Where's your compassion? No-one knows what might happen to them in life, and we all deal with sadness differently. Pete Doherty is a great poet and songwriter, he is also charismatic and enigmatic....he is also fallibly human with a lot of sorrow. I send him love and hope.
Peter, somehow, in his own poetic and bohemian way, is always telling the truth, in particular when it comes to his country. Big respect for this artist.
People wondering what he meant by feeling betrayed by Britain should know that every major tabloid was writing about how he was possessed by drug use and how he was weak and pathetic but when he brought implants back from Portugal that would render most opioids useless they would burst them open and ruin them. He feels his country wanted to see him flip off the rails and behave the way they expected rather than seeing a changed man. Mind you this was later in his carer.
His talent hasn't gone to waste at all from before this and up to now he still writes amazing songs and always will. He's doing what he wants when he wants unlike you.

@@hom0s4cer Hmm, he sort of has a point. I've been around Pete and even he says that from 2012 to 2016 the addictions spiralled out of control. He almost died a dozen times. People mock him for looking old and fat in 2021, but he's kicked heroin, crack and occasional meth. He does drink alcohol most days and smokes 50 cigarettes a day, a bit of weed and a VERY RARE line of Chas, but considering he was on all that other stuff I'd take a slightly chubby, grey Pete being alive over a 'cool', dark eyed addict. I'm proud of him for the changes he's made in the past 5 years.

Yes the implants were in like medical blister packs and they ruined them by opening them and putting there hands all over them. Wankers
