I can’t resist beautiful hand made tools by a man that knows the craft; just placed my first order. Can’t wait to buy the second tool, once I fall in love with the first one.
Thanks! I’ve started a series with a behind the scenes look at each tool I make. And, being an Aussie, you might appreciate my newfound love of Aussie woods. I’ll be doing a series on those as well! Will
I certainly live what I do! If you like this one keep your eyes out for my next one on setting the plane iron. Lots of enthusiasm and some woodworking geekery thrown in too! 😂
I just wish I needed any of these tools. I have a modest collection of hand wood working tools but have all I need to support them. My observations: 1) they are GORGEOUS 2) they look like quality tools 3) small businesses need to be supported. I am a leather crafter also and a shorter awl might be something useful. Not a big Osborne fan for quality. I will check back to your site to see when you release new tools.
Thank you Bruce! I’ve dabbled in leatherwork but not enough to make informed decisions about what size awls leatherworkers would need or prefer. It would be pretty easy to add those into my lineup, I’d just need to do some research to see what might be well-received.
@@Honey_Brook_Tools I can only suggest buying a cheap tool and just take measurements. I don't think there are standardized sizes for scratch awls. Maybe play with the handle shape. Seems like everyone uses the bulb type handle. Yours would look better and last longer. Only a suggestion.
Yes, Lee Valley did buy Hock Tools. I’m happy to report that they have no plans to change Ron’s tools. I’ve received my first shipment of my blades following the acquisition and they are exactly as they were before the acquisition.
Nice idea Sir, with marking gauge, I like the feel of the old sweet heart marking gauge, But i have to say i like your marking gauge. It's like a 2024 stanley sweetheart upgrade well done and i Subscribe too Take Care Sir
Thank you! I’ve recently begun working with some acacias from Australia-mulga, ringed gidgee, brigalow, and Yarran-and have made a couple of thes marking gauges with Yarran. All beautiful stuff!
Very impressive, regarding the build quality of your tools. May I ask how do you get your logo into your offered items? Is it pressed or with a laser engraver? Much obliged, Sir.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. The logo on my two knife blades is laser engraved at the factory. All of my other maker’s marks are hand stamped by me.
First rate stuff. Good luck with your young business!
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I appreciate your support!

Was really good to watch this video on what you make. Looking forward to seeing a few on how you make them!

I had heard that Lee Valley purchased Hock Tools. I heard you mention the marking knife blades being Hock.

Beautiful tools! Just a question, what is the size of your shop?
Thank you! My shop is about 15x32. Not huge and not small. I’ll do a shop tour video sometime!

Im a bowyer, so thats about the only woodworking experience inhave, was just wondering have you ever made a self bow? Also i enjoy your videos
Thanks for subscribing! No, I’ve never made any kind of bow. Looks like they could be challenging to make.
@@Honey_Brook_Tools they are pretty challenging but very rewarding
I understand that feeling!
Pretty sure it's Awl, not All. No matter. Beautiful work.
Wonderful.
