Heck yeah this is the way you upgrade figures worth upgrading. Im still debating which T rex I own, im gonna paint to resemble the T rex me & Morgan Freeman likes. The under appreciated Life on our Planet T rex!
You’re painting is awesome! It really improves the look of the figure overall. Of course you could have painted one tooth gold to give it a different feel however it looks awesome.
Andy you always do an incredible job with your paintjobs, this is no exception. I will say, I do think the colors are a little too vibrant here, and there should be some weathering done for the belly, but otherwise it looks great!

I think my rarest figures are the old safari chararodontosaurus and the small WWD liopleurodon they made in partnership with Quick. I don't know if it's rare, but I also own that green crawling raptor from mattel. Also, I don't know if you already heard the news or not, but Arctic Figures has an insta account and is completing people's orders!
Now that's what Mattel should have done for the buck t rex like more paint give it the same length of paint from the 2019 buck rex with better paint applications great job its now a 10/10 Mattel should have gave it more paint and toe nail paint
That’s exactly what I wanna do to this Rex but w a CamoXtreme Swamp Rex repaint Also why can’t u start painting on the base plastic? Why must a layer of beige be added?
The paint of your does helps it looking better. But honestly. The sculpt of this one isn't as accurate as we need it to be at all. The old one is little more accurate to the animatronic than this one tbh. Except for the big saggy neck. Although that one is just repainted of rexy sculpt.
Even great paint work couldnt save this thing. Mattel couldve just added the new lower jaw (MAYBE) and kept the old head. They really skipped out on the neck shape, and the legacy rex body just has never been a good body shape to begin with. Great paintwork andy.
😢 I'm sorry 😐 the new Jurassic world legacy collection with a bull T-Rex look stupid no offense it looks like that the dog spit up but still the 2018 tyrannosaurus Rex pack looks better than the Jurassic world ambush pack with Ian Malcolm
I generally don’t watch Mattel related videos because their detail isn’t the best, but I love when Andy does his paints. It was hilarious towards the end of the video when he started ragging on Mattel “pathetic and ugly” were some of the words and I died laughing 💀
Doesn’t Mattel have good scale detail? That’s why ppl love buying and repainting them. I’ve seen them use washes such as black wash to bring up the details on the sculpts
Only on the faces then it’s all wrinkles. But I meant anatomically I prefer animalistic dinosaurs not monstrosities. It’s okay if you like the designs, my favorite movies are the JP franchise, I just prefer real dinosaurs.

Giving a repaint to this figure is virtually the only reason to acquire it. On their own merit the Mercedes and Malcolm are fine.
