  • It’s key for any Fiore practitioner to understand or at least have a workable interpretation of these 3 fundamental terms for Posta use.

Really good view on the subject, good argument. We use a very similar approach.

One of the best explanation videos on HEMA topics i've ever seen. See it's a good thing I disagreed with you in the other video, because I wouldn't of found this great video otherwise.

Fantastic, thank you for the time to clearly and concisely explain your view on the categories of the posta in Fiore's system. I run a Fiore study group in Central Victoria, Australia and your explanation reinforces my sometimes instinctual grasp on what Fiore was getting at. The adherence to the language used in manuscript, without needless translation in inaccurate English terms makes the most sense to me. This video will help me to more clearly explain my thoughts and opinion within the group. Many thanks Anthony. www.clarabellum.com

I'm not a fiorist (yet, hopefully I'll be able to incorporate at least some of the system into my play or switch completely) but I think translating pulsativa into explosive would be a really good modern translation

Yeah. I mean, quite hard as well because pulsativa, pulsating.. sometimes it’s hard to use totally modern terms too - sadly

Do you think that perhaps the English word posture could be an accurate representation of "posta"?

Possibly. Its always hard to say, it’s an old word. Today, Posta means Post, or Mail. As in a letter being delivered.
Most, including ourselves, take the word Posta to literally mean Position.

@@theexiles7919 hi! I am Italian and I confirm that the correct translation for posta is position. Position in Italian is "posizione", the word posta suggests to me something that can change, whereas posizione is something more firm and stable (example: a fortified position, "una posizione fortificata"). Unfortunately posta as used by Fiore is an Italian word no more, and as you said now means mail.
