Obviously, being left handed is a recessive trait. So, the numbers do play a role in this whole thing.
It’s not like there is a boat load of left handers that even make it to playing at the high division one level.
But even so, this phenomenon is rather peculiar…
Because while left handedness is generally considered to be an advantage in other sports-I mean just ask any lefty baseball pitcher-that’s not the case in the NFL, where lefty quarterbacks are disproportionately underrepresented.
Especially in the modern game. Which begs the question why? What is so wrong with left handed
quarterbacks?

well your best pass blockers is usually the LT which would block your blind spot and your RT is usually your best run blocker. If your RT is not a good pass blocker a left handed QB would not have protection to his blind spot.
Simple answer Blind Side Blocking is the reason. The 2 most important positions on the O-line are Center and Blind Side Blocking. Since the vast majority of the players that develop this skill play LT there is very little talent for it at RT. If you switch Left to Right you end up adjusting Strong and Weak side protection while the opposing Defense doesn't have to make this adjustment which would be OP in the run game but a huge determinant in the passing game.
I'm always the best qb on my team, but since I'm a lefty, I never get to play qb.
I also throw too hard for my receivers to catch so they complain to the coach.

The most important aspect of less "lefties" is this: The spin/rotation on the ball from a left-handed QB is the opposite of what Receivers have come to expect. Most of the NFL receivers have been catching right armed spin vs. left arm spin. When every game balances on the catch of a 3rd Down completion, there is just too much risk to give the Receivers an excuse to miss a catch.

The ball rotates the different direction as well if 88% of the ball is thrown are spinning one way you're used to that makes it harder to catch I personally didn't even like playing with a left-handed quarterback on med growing up I would opt out of Vic and take McNabb every time

Protection schemes. That's what I was thinking. A coach can't just reverse the entire playbook to protect the quarterback's blind side. A whole new scheme has to be created. And even the defense has to learn it, so they, the defense, can defend against it in practice drills. It, starting a lefty QB, would be a major overhaul of the playbook, training, preparedness and play.

Blake Bortles amazing first couple of years ...then got hung out to dry by Jags....I think he had Allen Robinson at time.....lost all his WRs ....he TOSSSSED for over 4200 yds and 35 TDs didn't he first year and took them to AFC championship game??? Bortles was excellent with west coast offence......and a reason he has a back up job now.....it was now looking 4456 yds....35...TDs..17 INTS in sophomore year......then WTF????? I can give people the answer. If you have a left-handed starter you have a huge challenge of having to find a quality left-handed back up. It was rare enough that you found a quality talented quarterback for starter but I need a second quarterback to be the back up is even harder. And don’t tell me that you just substitute Right hand quarterbacks like it’s nothing. The entire offense blocking scheme Has to change just because you’re starting left-handed quarterback went down. Blocking responsibilities on the offensive line change. You’re play Calling can change a lot because suddenly you have a quarterback who is more likely to roll the opposite way when throwing.

Tua will be a top 6-10 qb every year, he’s too overlooked. I’m not sure if he adjusted to it because of he’s dad. But it looks natural throwing across he’s body too.

It's down to numbers. The right handed quarterback in the NFL are a small proportion of the right handed population that are good enough to play. A small percentage of an even smaller percentage of the population means that it's not unlikely that there may not be a left handed QB. Not some grand conspiracy against lefties.
Math still doesn't check out though by percentage. He said it 12% of the pop is left handed. Just because the NFL is a smaller sample size than the normal population, doesnt mean that the percentage shouldn't stay roughly the same.
