    This reminds me of what we were sold as being the future in the 1970's. Where we would live in bright white futuristic homes and drive electric/solar cars. Well there you are in an electric car, in the future. Plus you sold it to me the minute the future still had C&A. I loved C&A as a young boy. I now as a 50 something like to dress as "The man from C&A" some weekends. I think I am in love with this place. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

    This was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me, round about 2007, I was a long distance truck driver, doing removals, and had just moved some people to a home close to the Hippodrome, and just after pulling away, there was a loud bang, I thought I had blown a tyre, but it turned out to be a bit more severe than that, and as a result, I was stuck in the area for a just over a week, I stayed just by Villeneuve Loubet station, and enjoyed a couple of days around the swimming pool next to the old house, and also had time to visit Antibes. A pleasant week at the bosses expense. The main complex doesn't look like it has changed much, but the village by the station has changed beyond recognition.

    The house owner who refuse to sell: We have a parallel story here: Ebba's house. It is a house from 1780s, squeezed in between modern high houses from 1970. Ebba stood her ground and today it's a museum. It is so small that only 3 visitors can enter at the same time. Furnitures from her parents (1800?), a tiny back yard with an outhouse and all, kitchen utensils, everything is frozen in time. It even has got a 2nd floor, with a bedroom :). Yes, I just got a feeling of "Mon Ami-house" :).

    Well that was an interesting pursuit. I seem to recall a magazine article from childhood about the construction and along with the Concorde being a high-tech dream and model for the future. Interesting to see it today, and how the resolute farmhouse could be an icon for the lifestyle many dream of in our post modern era. I can't help but wonder if it finally came under ownership of the marina, and how it might make for unique event and entertainment venue.

  • @mecanomy
    @mecanomy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    ok guys..
    As I watched your videos, I started to think that if I got an AMI, it would be very easy to travel the world and see amazing places..
    (hmm..should I get an AMI?..I think I should watch you guys a little longer..)
    I discovered a convenience of AMI!.. Even deep cycle marine batteries can be used in this car since it works with 48 volts..
    yes it will be heavy, but assuming the car is very light, it will not be too difficult on the flat road..
    So, don't be afraid of the expensive lithium battery dying.

    • @MeandMonAmi
      @MeandMonAmi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far we’ve been lucky. The charging network here is pretty good. How much power would marine batteries provide?

    • @mecanomy
      @mecanomy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeandMonAmi...... Deep cycle batteries are long-lasting batteries.
      12 V / 200 Amps can be found in a single box.
      I agree, they are heavy but cheaper than lithium batteries..
      The power calculation is very simple:
      Watt = amps X volts ...... accordingly 200 x 12 = 2.4 KW
      There are so many empty places in AMI that it is not so difficult to find a place for 4 batteries.
      When you connect these batteries in series, you will get 48 X 200 = 9.6 KW power.
      Just like lithium batteries, they give energy "continuously" until they run out.
      The only difference is that lithium batteries are slightly lighter.
      Since lithium batteries are allergic to water, if they come into contact with water while passing through it, they will start a fire..be careful..
      If I had an AMI I would definitely try the battery alternatives..
      If AMI can do 70 km with 5.5 KW battery power (!), although they are heavy, deep cycle batteries can also travel 70 km with 9.6 KW battery energy on flat road.
      I wish you fun and safe driving
