Thank you for this message. The last time I knew of a church member asking to step down because of his behavior was back in the early 70's. He was our music director at church & our school. He broke his vows to God and to his wife. I also remember him on our prayer list for several years.
Ive been in 3 churches with "grace" sins. 1. The assistant pastor (who's dad was the senior pastor) had an affair with the lady who led nursery. We got a sermon about gossip, judging, not throwing the first stone, etc. After a few weeks off he was inaugurated as the senior pastor. 2. We left a church because I just had an off feeling. A year later, we found out at least 20 families over 30 years were coming together to file charges against the children's church leader. And when parents went to the pastor, they got the whole "don't touch gods appointed, don't ruin their reputation, and have forgiveness and grace" speech. The man was able to abuse kids for 3 decades in the name of Jesus. 3. We worked for a ministry that kept an overtly abusive manager around because he was so good at conning donors out of money. Typical charming, good looking guy who could talk people out of thousands. But as a manager, he openly admitted to abusing staff to get them to quit so he wouldn't have to fire them and pay unemployment.
Voddie, I want to know what you think of John MacArthur. There is a certain person who can't put out a video without demeaning this man. There are only 3 pastors I will listen to. You, John MacArthur and Paul Washer. So where am I wrong about who teaches Biblical truth?
Voddie is friends with John MacArthur and he is often invited to speak at the Shepherd's Conference. They do have differences in theology. Macarthur is a dispensationalist and Voddie is Reformed Baptist, 1689. But, Voddie has great respect for Johnny Mac.
@@gfbc1689 Thank you so much for answering. It eases my heart to know this. I have so much respect for Voddie, he is definately loved and trusted by our Father and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ., and you just know he speaks through the Holy Spirit. I will be 90 next month and have so depended on listening to those 3 Blessed men with no reservations as to what they were preaching. Thank you and God Bless you all.
"Tolerance is the virtue of a man without conviction." That is beautiful

It's about time someone spoke God's truth to the Southern Baptist organization.
You would probably like a podcast called sword and trowel. They have been doing just this thing for years. :)
