@@_-_-_-_9407 Yeah that means TIMELESS. Because quality music stopped after the 80s. Nobody can lay tracks like this anymore. Everything sounds the same. Has no personality with that awful auto tune. And weak songwriting. This was when music was truly great.
Moyet looks here like she's gone on tour with a bucket of KFC. Fast forward to 2015, and she is thin as a rake. Big, slender, who cares, the voice is what matters.
@@jeffstone2136 gone on tour with a bucket of KFC? That was pretty fucking rude. Yes she was heavier here and she was heavy for most of her life. Then she went on a diet and exercise regimen and is slim now. She said she didn't want to be a fat old lady.
Yep, she actually had Bariatric Surgery, which many do today. Some idiots go to Turkey etc for it. My friend had it. She lost 8 stone. Alison looks absolutely stunning now at 63 and great to see her dance moves too!!
Absolutely timeless classic. Yes, Alisons voice has changed over the years (like everybody else's will eventually) but still a powerful vocalist and great song😍
@@L0vac you have to know your history my friend ..Vince Clarke was a founder remember of depeche mode in the late 70s and in 1980 they released their 1st single .81 they brought out speak and spell with just can't get enough and new life etc etc .he was the driving force behing that early push to where they are now that's why he's a genius ...nothing to do with Alan wilder he joined in 1982 when Vince left ....Ive been a fan for 40 years ....
@@brapmanbrap5188 I know music very well. They would never progress though. They started to fly since Wilder started to work on Martin's demos. Vince came up with some nice melodies which I love, but after that they took it to a whole new level. Layered synths, dark progressive atmosphere as the song progresses etc. Clark did the start up, and I'm greatful for that. Love to listen to him when I need a quick fix, but post-Clark DM is where they started to fly.
@@L0vac With all respect, but even Depeche admit they had no plan, no determination, and that without Vince and Speak and Spell they would simply have never existed. Martin Gore, who I love as a person especially, and I consider a genius, is another product of the many people Vince made famous and successful due to the fact Vince was always driven from the very beginning and also is without doubt the most gifted songwriter and synth musician of all time. Martin Gore even with all his talent doesn't have the character to form band after band and reach the same heights with each one.
No dancing. Focus is on the music. Strong and amazing voice. Singing live without autotune. Vince Clarke what a talent involved in 3 top bands. Yazz or Yazoo had many good hits. I was lucky enough to be able to pump this through our car and home hifi system. Good times. Uncomplicated music with lyrics that had meaning. Certain songs become tracks and memories of your life. Make good memories. Good music never dies ❤.
Ya es difícil lograr trascender con una banda imaginate este tipo con por lo menos 3 extremadamente masivas..y cada una con su impronta...algo de bueno debe tener no? Un genio
Love this live mix of the tune. Love how it keeps all the beats that make this synth-pop masterpiece what it is, but updates the sounds to sound a bit more contemporary.
Got to meet the LEGENDARY Clarke here in Dallas last year at a D.J set at Lizard Lounge, ... damn near passed out from sheer excitement of shaking his hand.
My favorite singer and group from the ´80, strong and wonderful voice and presence. Simply great artist still singing so well. Thanks Allison for bring unforgettable music. God save Allison (also to Vince)
absolutely the best #Electronic #SynthPop genre song ever made. Vince Clarke is the master of synths and all electronic noise making equipment. His style is so very incredible. Alison Moyet has one of the most unique, incredible singing voices to ever be heard ~ #Yaz #yazoo 4ever !! ~
MisAnnThorpe That is just one song though. I was referring to Vince Clarke being the master of synths & all electronic noise making equipment (not taking anything away from him). Just feel that Kraftwerk deserve that crown
"Absolutely the best electronic synth pop genre song ever made". Personally, I'd choose to listen to Cabaret Voltaire's "Crackdown" or "The Covenant the sword and the arm of The Lord" or " "The Art of falling apart", by Soft Cell, over any Vince Clarke album, but that's just me.
Imagine being together for 15 months, hardly talk to each other because you're both too strong willed, both bring amazing equal, but totally different parts to the band, and ending up with 3 songs that will last forever. Incredible. So nice they like each other now.

It’s unbelievable how good this still sounds! 🙌🙌🙌And with Alison gorgeous as she always was!! Vince is alright too if you’re in to that sorta thing I guess? 😉
I love the way a lot of the 80's performers (mainly men) are still great! Nick Kershaw, Midge Ure, Daryll Hall, Matt Goss, Morten Harket, Tony Hadley, Mark King, Vince Clarke. For the women Susannah Hoffs still sings, Martika and Madonna...
Vince Clarke is a genius! Dep Mode, Yaz, Erasure!

Her voice is truly one of a kind. The soul is just beyond words.
Always felt she has been underrated while Adele is overrated.
Que tendrá que ver dos estilos diferentes.
Except it ain't great here. Flat and lifeless.
I love Alyson and her voice!
This track is timless, sounds as good to day as it did 30+ years ago
timeless? it sounds 80s
alderaanic agreed
it was on UK Charts in 1982

Vince the Legend and Alison the voice just awesome
Friggin loved this tune as a kid. Always sounded like a mystery I had to solve.
Alison is so pretty and her voice sounds just the same as all of those years ago! Two immensely talented people! :)
Alison Moyet looks stunning today. I have never known anyone else look so much better in their 50s than they did in their 20s.
Although in certain angles she looks a bit like Ozzy lol
Moyet looks here like she's gone on tour with a bucket of KFC. Fast forward to 2015, and she is thin as a rake. Big, slender, who cares, the voice is what matters.
I'm agree with Billy Jango. Alison still young and its voice too
