Lyrics
Came in from the city
Walked into the door
I turned around when I heard
The sound of footsteps on the floor
Love just like addiction
Now I'm hooked on you
I need some time to get it right
Your love's gonna see me through
Can't stop now, don't you know?
I ain't never gonna let you go
Don't go
Oh, baby, make your mind up
Give me what you got
Fix me with your lovin'
Shut the door and turn the lock
Hey, go get the doctor
Doctor came too late
Another night, I feel all right
My love for you can't wait
Can't stop now, don't you know?
I ain't never gonna let you go
Don't go
Came in from the city
Walked into the door
I turned around when I heard
The sound of footsteps on the floor
Said he was a killer
Now I know it's true
I'm dead when you walk out the door
Hey, babe, I'm hooked on you
Can't stop now, don't you know?
I ain't never gonna let you go
Don't go
Repeat Chorus
Don't go, Don't go, Don't go, Don't go
#Yazoo #Yaz #DontGo

This synths are the beginning of a completely new era in music. Vince is a genius.
Ngl Vince is really good electro-musician
The synths need to come back
Vince, a genius and one hell of a programmer. This was the start and the best of Euro-synth. I still love all this stuff. The last 70s was awesome but the 80s had Euro-synth music and some of the best metal bands as well. I loved it all!
@@angelasullivan5505 They're still here, there was a revival around 2015.
@@angelasullivan5505 Let me see what I can do
You really know when a song was ahead of its time, when you listen to it after more than 40 years and it still slaps!
Yes and still fills the dance floor.
❤❤❤
👏👏👏
That's me right now lol
You're right
Easily, the most underappreciated female singer of the 80s, IMHO
Alison Moyet
Not for me ! For me She is the Best 🎉
I’ve been in love with Alison moyet since the 80s
I always thought it was a dude singing! I get her confused with another group that had a similar sound ….
I am a teacher...teaching kids Dutch...in a Belgian school. They are 13 to 15 year old. When they hear these songs...they all love them. I have infected at least 300 kids with the 80's bug. And I'll be doing that till my retirement. 20 years to go.
❤❤👍👏☺️💕🙏
Same here. Teaching 60's, 70's & 80's music and a few from 90's. But 80's are pretty solid to teach all the year long.
🏆🏅🏅
✨ Keep up the good work soldier 👏🤘✨ 😉
Alison Moyet's voice is one of a kind. What a voice!
Before Adele there was Alison Moyet!
@@sandratcn
Yeah and Adele is overrated while Al
lison was seriously underrated. But together with Vince they made one of the best albums of alltime. And certainly a seminal synth pop album with Upstairs at Eric's. I still have it on cassette and play it on my old HITACHI Boombox. Given to me for my 17th birthday back in 1981. HAPPY DAYS.
@@fender1000100 I went down a rabbit hole… digging out Yazoo and her stuff…she had an amazing voice
@@sandratcn
Absolutely. Insane power. As demonstrated on "Don't Go". And a subtle emotion as shown on "Only You".
Married to Vinces inventive genius on synths. Was a unique and incredible pairing over 40 years ago. That created what I consider the finest electro pop music ever. It had amazing sounds and soul too.
@@Just_another_Euro_dude it is French her father is from france
Six years before Adele was even born Alison Moyet was already on the dance charts with that amazing voice. I always thought she was underrated since the 80’s. I still fucking do...
Thank you. I have been trying to explain to people forever that Adele is just Alison Moyet 30 years later
Adele doesn't have Vince Clark, both singers are incredible, but Vince brings the magic that makes Alison's voice shine so bright
Adele didn’t have Vince Clarke but she sure had Paul Epworth, an exceptional songwriter, musician and producer who has worked with Rihanna and Florence and the Machine. Sounds like good creative company to me...
Very underrated along with Vince, but still very successful at least
I still fucking do too...
Adele is crying too much
Well this Composition and Arrangement with these incredible unique Synthesizer and Drummachine Sounds paired with that phenomenal Singing is one of its kind !!!
Never reached by anyone else !!!!
Vince Clark and Alison Moyet made YAZOO,this incredibly great Band !!!
Thank You !!!

This song is timeless, it will be played long after I have moved on......
Vince Clarke is one of the most underrated people in the UK music industry.
Wait the band is from the Uk? I never knew that!
Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Assembly & Erasure is some CV!
I agree. Vince was a pioneer as far as synths were concerned. Listen to original Depeche Mode songs and you can hear it in this.
He is a seriously talented artist !
the guy just got 9 billion views. his songs are well known worldwide even with non-anglosaxon people like me, everytime u play this song in a party everybody start to dance, and u still find they're underrrated ? what do u need ? a statue in buckingham palace mate ? :D
40 years old this year. Still one of the greatest songs of all time
50 years old here and I couldn't agree more
it's a shame she always remained big. she had a great bone structure she would have been gorgeous sans the extra weight
@@cagneybillingsley2165 that's not a nice thing to say... she was gorgeous at any size, plus you're incorrect, she actually lost a lot of weight some years ago
@@cagneybillingsley2165 She was and still is gorgeous in my eyes 😍
I just read that "40 years old this year" that made me say a long slow drawn out F*************K most people I work with were not even born yet.... LOL

That synth bass line...absolutely awesome. Nearly 40 years later and it still sounds so damn good!
Facts 💪
And still sounds so new!
The whole arrangement is genius.
True, and you can go through most Italo Basslines of the early 80's - that was THE time for dancefloor and I was lucky to be DJ then :D
It does.
I don‘t think this song will ever not sound fucking epic.
The 1980s was probably the greatest decade for music. The musical diversity that we all enjoyed was incredible...This decade tops even the 1960s.. and that decade was great. But the 1980s was something else.....It really was... This is just one top song from that decade
The 60s for me
@@bigkuriboh3814 Its between the 1960s and the 1980s for me ..I have mentioned already the reasons why ..I just feel that the 1980s had much more musical styles and vibes to enjoy than the 1960s...Rock, pop, and Soul music dominated the 1960s. Whereas the 1980s had that as well as HipHop, House, and Techno battling it out as well. Plus the 1980s UK British music invasion was even bigger than the first one (in THE 1960s) with more groups obtaining success through it.
@ElectricSoulShow I love the 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s 😆 but I think the 60s and the 90s just edge it for me, however I completely understand your position :) I think we can both definitely agree that music today is nothing like as great as it used to be 😜

I'm 54 and this hit when I was in my formative high school/early college years. There was NOTHING like this...cold synth with jazz/blues voice. Dancy, drinky, party. I felt cool for a minute being in the know.
Same. The early '80's started great: eclectic mix with New Wave groups like Yazz, Communards, Cure, etc. Things got cheesy circa '88, but it was fun while it lasted. Pass the mousse and "Drakkar Noir", please....
