Very nice Svend! A lovely classic style. These Matuku flies are still very popular down her in NZ. Your variation is similar to the 'Jack Sprat', only darker under body & looks great. While they are still filling the fly bins with these style flies, tying them has become less and less common thing. Like your self I'm a sucker for the classics (flying and tying)..., must be an age thing. nearly 40 I've had 25 years of pure fish slaying down here, but now enjoy the finer side of the game. Ha
    Noticed no Nor-vise?
    Cheers

Bevanflyfishnz that’s some good info. Yeah this is a wicked fun tie in my opinion. So many lessons learned and improve other areas of tying. Yeah I was demoing a Norvise and got mine in the mail last week. It’s smooth like butter.

@@Svenddiesel Cool, you thought about incorporating some fishing in your vids?

Bevanflyfishnz yeah I have. Meaning tie the fly then fish it? Usually I am out solo or in places that we don’t want to get blown up with anglers so I don’t do video very much.

It’s probably a daaichi or mustad. I used to take my hooks out of packs and out in bulk bins
