As someone who was working with one of the stores they looted which i wont name, while we were stuck on 3rd floor of our building, the fear we experienced sadly traumatized some of our co workers. We keep asking ourselves how could the neighborhood that surrounds our stores that we treated so fairly and outmost care do something like this to us? Worked in Papua New Guinea before. Their Government cannot really manage their own people. Policing is ineffective, Government officials corrupt and worst is that most of the local populace are uneducated and hostile.
Those shop owner get high profit. They buy cigarettes from indonesia only 2 dollars for 1 pack and sell it in png at least 10 dollars per pack. Some stores sell 15 dollars. This kind of cigarettes businesses also same with others product such as food and medicine.
