I installed the Wokeby frunk 18 months ago, and it has been faultless. Dry, rattle-free and very useful for chargers, towbar tongue and a few other items that you only need occasionally and which would otherwise take up valuable boot space. Highly recommended.
Well done @Wokeby! I'm using your BMW i3 Frunk Cover and Trunk extension. Perfect. When I saw the first tests of this china-BMW-iX3 I linked you in my comment. Good that you have taken it up. Only with a trunk this iX3 is a useful e-Mobile.
I tried it, but as the original bumpers are covered now with the frunk, the cover will only sit above and is not stabilized 100%. So closing the hood is not working properly.
Useful vid thanks. Car is on order expected Oct 22 and this may well be my first purchase. Some queries: - I can only assume that it will need to be removed 'before' taking for its annual service at the dealership ? - As it has no lid does it seal well to the hood or should one expect some level of road dirt to work its way in over time ? What's your experience so far ? And I wonder why Wokeby didn't make the top lips/flanges large enough to cover the remainder of the (engine) bay much like the original cover. I still find it incredulous that BMW didn't bother making/fitting one. I mean bloody hell BMW...🙄
dear paolo, as i dont know how your dealer would see this, i recommend to remove before service. between the bonnet and the body is a rubber seal that holds back the dirt and water. so you don't need to worry. for the other question concerning wokeby i cant give u a reasonable answer.
That was my first idea as i installed it. I tried it, but as the original bumpers are covered now with the frunk, the cover will only sit above and is not stabilized 100%. So closing the hood is not working properly.
@@vasito6062 There's another product demonstrated here: th-cam.com/video/8V7mSi6A3EM/w-d-xo.html but it looks like a home-made solution. I can't believe BMW did not bother to provide a proper frunk for such a practical car like the iX3...
Good question, i asked my dealer and they told me that it will not void it. But it would be nice if there is someone official from BMW who can give a 100% answer/

Well done and you even did the hard "one handed" version 🙂
Will have to make my own installation video now within the next weeks as well.
One-handed is really a cramp. but it worked. that speaks for the easy installation. I'm looking forward to your video.

What about the original cover?

Can it be covered with the original plastic cover? It would be nice if it could be made less prone to getting dirty inside.

@@PeterRince i saw this before on Facebook, the creator wrote there, that it is still a prototype and will be produced in Asia later.
Does this void your bmw warranty?
