Does this also fit right-hand-drive iX3's, such as here in Australia, or the UK? I ask because layout of steering and braking components would be different, and something might interfere with the shape of the moulding designed for the left-hand drive version of the car.
and why BMW does not provide in the first place is simply beyond belief. so glad you are looking out for the buyer since the manufacturer is not. would not mind a new cover piece to clean up the surrounding area. cheers
Yeah we know that quite some customers would love to have an additional cover. It will be tricky to realize because there are no mounting points that could be accessed. But we will give it another look onece there is more time 😉
I think that is would have been even better if it also covered the gaps and components around the trunk. If it is going to be used as a frunk, it should look as good as the trunk.... A fabric surface would also benefit the luxury feeling to it instead of just plastic... (I am waiting for mine for i4, and will probably rebuild stuff to make it look better)
Hi Ulrik thank you for your input. We understand your points but as we don't have the quantities we need to have an eye on the costs of the product. The part must be small enough to be shipped internationally. We are at the limit already. Additional fabric parts need to be fastened somewhere and we were not able to find suitable points for that. The products must still be affordable and this is the biggest challenge for small quantity production. But we are thrilled to see how you will improve your BMW i4 Frunk ;-)
How much weight it can carry? Doe it make any additional noise while driving? thanks for help. I am about to buy ix3 and this looks like perfect addition for it = )
Hi This frunk is pretty tough and can easily take everything you want to carry around. BMW standard charger, Charging cable first aid kit and so on. I cannot give you precise numbers but we did our test with an overall weight of about 10 kg and it was no issue at all. I never heared any noises from the front and even if something would move inside the frunk. The front compartement is insulated to shield off the noise of a combustion engine 😉
Hi I don't have an official statement from BMW and will never get one. But as this frunk is considered cargo I don't think that BMW could void your warranty. You can "load" your car with whatever you want as long as you stay within the specified limits. But I can tell you, I have BMW dealers that buy this frunk from me and in all the years I have never had a single report of an issue from a customer.
Is the frunk really installed directly in front of the fan? Is there any airflow left? I am driving a company car and worrying what happens in case of overheating in terms of warranty.
Hi, yes the frunk is behind the cooling fan but with enough space to grant air flow. For sure more space than in the BMW i4 M50 and that was designed by BMW themselves 😉 Anyways there is not much heat that needs to be absorbed in an EV. Most heat is created while fast charging or race track driving.
The current status is: We expect the parts to arrive by the end of March and will launch the sale latest in April. If you want to get notified when we have more precise dates then feel free to sign up for the product newsletter ;-)
@@WOKEBY but any possible the original cover could be reinstall on top of the trunk which after installed? Seems there will be heavy dust when the car after long range travelled
@@veckerschan6365 No this is not possible. The iX3 frunk builds much higher and so there is not the same possibility as with the i4 Frunk. But in our test the frunk stayed dry and clean
Crazy how much wasted space is in this car. They could've easily made it have 20cm extra rear legroom for example with all this space, which is massive.
Thats the downside of these mixed platforms. Don't know what's the reason for all that hilarious waste of space as the last pure EV platform of the BMW iX has the same issues. A gigantic front hood without even a tiny frunk 🤷🏼♂

Hi William
Yes. Our BMW iX3 Frunk fits right hand drive versions as well. We do already have quite a few happy customers in the UK.
Excellent German engineering. Maybe BMW should hire some of you and do it right in the first place.
Another nice Product from WOKEBY ... love the i3 Complete set btw

Any news on version 2?
Einfach nur toll wie ihr den Frunk aufgewertet habt!!! :-)
Wir tun was wir können 🙂
Wiedermal eine geniale Idee von Wolfgang 👍
Vielen Dank
Você é muito bom no que faz...
A BMW deveria chamar vc para trabalhar com eles.
Obrigado 🙂
Great stuff! A must have for everybody. ❤
Thank you 🙂

Expecting same thing for iX1 😮
I have not seen a iX1 in person, yet but the platform is front wheel driven. So it is possible that there might not be much space left.
This is incredibly lazy engineering of BMW and a great product from you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much

Where is Luciana? :-)))
She was filming 😉
Maybe she will do the next installation video for the BMW i4 eDrive 40 Frunk.
Does installing this affect the bmw factory warranty? Any bmw statement on this?

Want to buy this for my new IX3, but stupid question…what do you do with the original cover once the frunk is installed?
I would place it in the basement. This is what I did with the metal plate of my BMW i3 when i designed the trunk extension. ;-)
This is a deal breaker for me 😔

А че остальное пространство открыто будет? Пластмассы не хватило сделать пыльники по сторонам, на стандартные крепления, а не эти стремные хомуты
