You mention not wanting to invest in crypto. You don't have to invest in it if you don't want to. But if you get a crypto app, and an address (both free btw) you can simply post it in the description of your videos and people can send you crypto as easily as someone can send an email. You don't have to use it for your own money, but you can receive money from anyone, anywhere in the world outside of the youtube fees, bank fees, or sanctions.

I had a similar experience, but I didn't actually go in person. On the bank websites it does say you need a local tax ID and a work permit, but then I discovered (as you did) you could get a tax ID number and a bank might accept that for non-resident accounts. But I worked out that the fees were stupid so I never bothered to apply for it. I think the 10% you're talking about is nothing to do with YT, it's because of the tax treaty, I think the US non-resident alien rate for Kazakhstan is 10%, I know it is for Russia. It's on your 1042-S. There's nothing you can do about that, but you can claim it as a foreign tax credit (or maybe you can't, because it's a third country it's been charged to).
Someone mentioned Serbia, but I think Turkey is the one to go for as five of the banks there have said they'll issue Mir cards, so that means you can do transfers via card-to-card (hopefully). The problem is that Turkey is an economic basket case. I wouldn't put a lot of money in a Turkish bank. But the actual problem you've got is that you're resident in Russia. Companies still won't deal with you because of that, regardless of where the bank account is.

Svetlana "How to Invest": (based on my 71 years of living) - Crypto is a speculation, not an investment (maybe just a gamble) - Russians (like their government) like gold but you may not have assets for that yet - you should keep several months worth of cash for living expenses as a minimum before you 'invest' - Russian stock market may be good investment as prices have dropped hard ... if you are holding for VERY long-term - perhaps buy a house or apartment and find roommate to rent from you (and help pay for house) - invest in learning a trade or skill - start your own business - can you model? (since you have the looks!) - channel suggestion: make shorter videos but more often! All my love - Trippe

In terms of military relationships we (western theorists, NATO) consider both Kazakhstan and Belarus to be extensions of Russia, where Ukraine, Georgia, certain other spots are obviously considered not closely aligned with Russia, although maybe termed rogue states so aren't without apprehension.
Kazakhstan may not be the best place to skirt sanctions anyway, you're always around Sochi, why not look at a Georgian bank? Georgia will fly right under any sanctions levelled at Russia and I'm guessing no administrative fee is required, they're simply western-neutral and aren't associated with Russia by the west except in opposition. Kazakhstan is tied with Russia administratively, so is going to hit the sanctions in some way or other, looks like in corrupted fees and requirements from what you're saying. I'm not there and can only speculate but would suggest trying a Georgian bank in the first place, what do you think? I'm curious if I might be correct or way off base about it.

I sympathize with you on the banking issue. I am shocked at how Russian banks are in effect "stealing" incoming $ from Russian people with that $200 per transaction fee. But it does show that sanctions have consequences for ordinary Russian people.
I am pleased to see you looking good, and in good spirits. That hair is as beautiful as ever! And you look gorgeous.
interesting new mosque in the Kazakh architectural style. I would have liked to see inside.
As to Lenin, there is a large bronze statue of him in Seattle, in the Fremont suburb. Its a bit of a tourist landmark. It was salvaged from a junkyard in Eastern Europe, I think.

Lol It's called capital controls and US does it more than all other countries combined. It's only on US$ not on local or other currencies. All it's doing is deterring people draining wealth from Russia into USA, the country that is actively trying to destroy the RF economy and cause millions of Russians to suffer through economic devesation (fortunately US is failing).
And talking about theft, How would you justify USA stealing $300 Billion of Russian foreign reserves that is the money of the people of Russia and USA/EU just stole it. And that's just Russia. The worst humanitarian crisis in Earth right now is the famine in Afghansitan that has 1 million people on the verge of death. Caused by USA just stealing Half of all money of the Afghan Nation. How can anyone justify that? USA did the same to Venezuela and Iran, just taking every penny they had saved in banks outside their country.

In fact travelling to many, many countries on business its the first time I have had Taxi drivers refuse to accept money from me as I am a guest in their country. This has happenned to me in Almaty, Nur Sultan (Astana) and Shymkent. Dont like the salted cheese kurd tbh :) You should try opening a bank account in Turkey as its very easy for foreigners. All information online isn't accurate. You always need to double check. I don't know how many times i hit my nose on a locked door when i trusted the "open hoors" on Google for a restaurant. LOL. Just call instead. I was going to suggest maybe your friend coul dopen an account in a new bank and let you use it (give you the passwords, cards etc) but then maybe it won't work with TH-cam because the account might need to be in your own name. Hope you find a way around this soon. 💜

Healthy and right attitude regarding investments. Whatever it is, Krypto, stocks, gold etc. all can provide you with harsh losses (as Bitcoin did in the recent past), if you don't know what you're doing. And in order to know what you do, it takes app. years of quality education and market experience. Take this advice from a banker, an investment specialist who's been working in the US, Europe and in Russia. Other than that: great channel to follow, led by an intelligent and pretty woman. 👍😊

Hi Svetlana! Semipalatinsk was the atomic bomb test site of the Soviet Union. Around 500 explosions took place between 1949 to 1989. It's a world record for one location. This fact explains the many Lenin and other statues left behind, and now concentrated in on place. When the Soviet Army left Kasakhstan, they left them behind like ugly relatives 😒

Its just another form of currency. Over time it does get more or less valuable just like all other currencies, but its a currency that you can actually pair your digital wallet to an actual card. I really dont think you can use it for adsense, but just so you know in the future. Hopefully all this will end soon*

You Russians have a patience about you that no American would tolerate like how you spent all day at the bank only to be turned away only after attempting your task day after day and jumping through all their hoops. An American would lose their mind and be yelling and screaming inconsolably. Very different cultures from your way of life under the old (and current) soviet union.

awesome video. thanks for sharing. i love seeing videos of daily living in other cultures. i would love to visit these places someday. i am glad you did not open the account, those fees were stupid high. as for "investing" in crypto, do not get crypto for investing. all you really doing to exchanging money into another currency, like usd to rubles, etc. once you are investing in other forms of investments, and you have extra to exchange in hopes it will go up, that would be the time to "invest" there. gold and silver are not good investments either, by themselves, by sure you have other investments before you add gold and silver to the portfolio. i am not an investment expert, that is strictly my opinion from my research of investing, and how i would handle it, if i was at the point to do that. keep up the awesome work, and looking forward to many more videos!

You have your work cut out for you Svetlana. The rules are there specifically to stop people doing what you are trying to do (take capital from Russian Banks to USA/EU). It's unfortunate for you as your intentions are innocent but it's essential for the overall protection of the Russian Economy and preventing the collapse of the Rouble.
IMO the two best options are 1) Your instinct to be philosophical, just wait. Your money is relatively safe where it is and in a year or two it will be easier to move it. It will incur interest if you chose the right holding a/c so it's not a loss financially.
    2) buy a transferable assest like Gold/Platnium (not Crypto too volatile). It's not for an investment but as a way to get the value of the Dollars you have into a form you can sell when you get to USA.

I would like to renounce my Finnish citizenship and move to either Russia or Kazakhstan, or even Mongolia.
    EU sucks.

Wow the banking system over there sounds messed up. Everybody has their hand out for part of your income. Hope you enjoyed yourself with your friend in a lovely city. Stay well and be safe. Could you go to a western country to get a card?

The West's financial system is about to implode. Sanctions only made Russias ruble stronger. Svetlana is best to stay close to home. Russias economy is getting stronger while the West's is getting weak. We have complete idiots running America.

goto the Belarus, open a bank account. 2 weeks later go back and pick up your cards. Easy. It's a 6 hour drive from Moscow to the Belarus border. So you can drive there and back on the same day.

What if you start a company in Kazakhstan? Then you will have the documents to open a bank account right? You as Director of the company can be employee. As employee, you should have a bank account there to operate 😉
