This classic, powerful yet touching animation, featuring the late. great John Mills and Peggy Ashcroft, is so overlooked on TV. nooo, russia wouldent dare throw a nuclear missile anwhere but in he 1980s it was a real threat. there is a british film they filmed and were going to show in the event of a nuclear missile being aimed a england called proect and survive also wach a british film called threads about a nuclear blast aimed at leeds.
Used to watch this with my granny , about 8-11 , understood it at the time but not fully, nothing has changed really, the government could give these directions tomorrow and 99% would follow them and melt with the masses, still a great film 🎥

R.I.P Raymond Briggs. This story brought me into something I'm interested in and learning about, nuclear war and the world wars. Because of this story scaring the heck out of me I know what do if I get caught in the explosion or what to do.
I'm not afraid, it's what we grew up with? Get a door and build a shelter so their are no body's in the streets? Lied to then lied to now, nothings changed
@@rjjcms1 It's better than that, normally sirens are wailing across town *_over 30 minutes_* beforehand if I am generous and phone up the emergency services. They are very swift and all roads are closed off before the fart takes place. Sometimes I just don't bother phoning them up, though, and all hell breaks loose!
But what is with the Americans bombs, or them of France or britains, there from Pakistan, India and China, oh and North Cordanzuges bombs, there have them too and no logic thought state would give his nukes one other or destroy them all
