I purchased a 714ce about 7 months ago and really was not blown away by the sound. That said, 7 months later, this guitar has really come in. Now I am totally in love with this guitar. So I would say, if you get one, give it some time to age a bit and you will likely be very happy with the sound. The guitar edges are not as sharp as pre 2018 guitars. This is a great help in resting the arm on the edge. What more can I say except this guitar is the best guitar out there for the money. Great demo here and pretty much says it all.

I find your comment very interesting. I to purchased the 714ce in May of 2019. In the first 3 months of owning it I almost sent it back a couple of times. But in the last 2 weeks it is amazing how this guitar has changed. Now I can't put it down it just keeps sounding better.

The way to change this guitar instantly is to remove the Elixir strings and put on some EJ16s. Completely different guitar and sounds absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the string change.

Appreciate the great demo. I just purchased this guitar about a month ago, and this was one of the helpful videos I watched while researching. I have to say I absolutely love this guitar. It is so vibrant - to me it just sings. Wonderful clarity and tone quality. An absolute pleasure to play. Looking forward to it aging and getting even better.

I went to buy a 714 on Wednesday but came across the new 814ce that has the armrest. Played both and couldn’t really tell the difference. Just really liked the armrest so I opted for that one VERY happy so far

How tall are you? You make this guitar look very small

nice video. i am the proud owner of a 314ce V and i love it for the most part but am thinking of possibly spending maybe around 2200 on a 700 or 800 used. would you say it is ok to buy an older taylor such as early 2000s or 2010? most people with an instrument of that quality dont let it get neglected and i really like that i have owned my 314 since out of the box but im gonna be honest i would much rather take the financial shortcut of a used 714. what strings are you using? elixirs? what guage?

Nothing wrong with buying used from that time period. You can save a bunch of bucks, and the guitar is already "broken in". Best of luck!

for about 1-200 more you can definitely get the newest 714 lightly used, if you are patient.

thanks for the demo of the 714ce, I will be buying one for my 6th Taylor. The fingerstyle song in drop D you played in the demo is very interesting to me. Would you tell me the name of the song and if you have a tab link to that arrangement you played, please...thanks

Hi Gerard, thanks for the kind words. That tune in the end is a piece of mine called "Nairobi." I don't have a transcription of it, unfortunately.

@@pegheadnation Thanks for your reply, Teja, I might try to pick up your song "Nairobi" by watching the video many times if it's ok, otherwise I won't.
