Travel tip: If you want to have the AC running (I know, not very environmentally friendly, but could be pretty nice in a tropical climate) when not in the room, you can basically use any type of card. I usually take my old blue Swedish metro card (now useless) with me on vacation for that very reason.

    1. Why bother visiting Sweden when you can just stay home and watch IKEA furniture assembly tutorials all day instead? 😂 #FlatpackLife
    2. Who needs to explore Sweden's breathtaking natural beauty when you can just stare at your neighbor's boring backyard? 🌿 #WorstVacationEver
    3. Avoiding Sweden like the plague because who would want to experience the joy of endless summer days or cozy winter nights? 🌞❄️ #FOMO
    4. No thanks, Sweden. I'll just stay home and enjoy my daily dose of meatballs and lingonberry sauce from the frozen food aisle. 🍽️ #MichelinStarMeal
    5. Why travel to Sweden and witness stunning Viking ruins and royal castles when you can just binge-watch reality TV shows on Netflix instead? 🏰📺 #LivingTheDream

Energy conservation measures is a good idea. Imagine how many ppl leave their hotel room lights blazing all day while they're out and enjoying their holiday. Might be weird but if you think about it why are not everybody doing the card thing in all hotels?

3:40 Culture shock? For some it's weird, for others it's smart... when you pull the card out again when you leave the room, the power is no longer active. Has different reasons... Saving electricity (for the hotel), less risk of fire and and and... 🤓
Some planning by travelers in general (not aimed at you!) I will not understand. Why sweat in the hot mid-July/August at peak tourist time in Rome or Athens, while you can spend a nice warm summer day in Stockholm. The heat and warmth in the Mediterranean is still there in September. Just a suggestion for those who are planning similar trips in the future ;-)
