Great upcycles. Love the print in the new frame. The bookends can go the other way too with the longer part up the side of the book so you can change it up a little, esp if you add more books. Love Syd's new painting too. Sending you love and best wishes for the funeral. 🤎

Hi Apryl and Syd, love your little rocking horse and I love the canvas Syd rescued off you, I’ve got 6 same type Christmas ones but mine aren’t motion sensered which is a much better as I have to put them on and off each night. Love the marble pestal and mortar great size and a bargain for your kitchen and I’ve got the bunny jar Syd.
Lamp turned out well and so did your book ends you always look past what things are to what you can turn them into and they turned out great and look lovely on your kitchen shelf. I loved your artwork from Homesense Syd both were stunning. Lovely to see Jet bless him.

Loved the up-cycle, could you share what paint colours you used, came out great!
Hi ya! Thanks so much! 🥰 The main colour was an acrylic paint from The Range, it was the Art Studio Premium brand in shade Raw Umber. I added a little bit of “Bone” by Farrow and Ball just to lighten it a tad! But didn’t necessarily need it!
I did that all over as the base colour, then added a bit of an orange toned paint to the paint I’d already mixed, to create a slightly different and warmer shade. Hope that helps! I tend to just do it by eye and just add bits from different samples I have until I like the colour lol
The great thing about this type of up-cycle, is that if you don’t like it, just walk away from it for a couple of days then you can go back and start again if you don’t like it! What I would say, is with the second colour, you only want it to be a slight bit different to the first colour- so just add a tiny bit of a darker or lighter colour to alter the shade just slightly! Then they blend really nicely together but you still get the subtle two toned look! xx 😘
